Apple to unlock iPhone's NFC chip capabilities in June, report says
Hilton hotels allow door entry today via their “Digital Key” feature within the Hilton iOS app.
Does that use NFC today? How will the new capabilities differ? Just curious.

iOS 17 may be much more than a maintenance update
I assumed iOS 17 tentpole features would be support for the AR/VR headset. But… so few people may buy this first product (if the price is $3K) that focusing the iOS upgrade primarily on that product may be a mistake.

I like the rectangular design, but it’s interesting that some of the new watch faces are circular. I wonder if that’s setting the stage for a circular design (in addition to rectangular) in the future?

I wonder if a key target audience is DEVELOPERS of AR/VR software. Apple wants there to be a broad set of AR/VR apps to justify future purchases of Apple Glass (or even Apple Car), so maybe this is an extension of the SDK to seed that developer market.

Last night I visited Apple's first retail store, in Tysons, VA. There were many customers looking at iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro... but zero customers looking at Watch.
i love my Watch and use it daily, but Apple still needs to find a way to build broad enthusiasm for this category.
