Citing concerns in China, activist investor Carl Icahn no longer owns shares of Apple

Tim Cook needs to be out next.
Can't blame Ichan for selling. He still made a nice profit. Plus he made huge losses in oil so he needs to show realized profits somewhere else.
Tim Cook is NOT the problem Wall Street is. Their illegal activities are being overlooked and they're getting away with it. Luckily Apple is so huge that the stock markets can't actually do anything to the company and is more of a boil on the butt of Apple. Hopefully one day it will be lanced and Apple can get on to some real work without distractions. THEN you'll see what Apple can really do. -

Fitbit's 'basic' devices dominate wearables market, Apple Watch sneaks into third
This reminds me a lot of how Blackberry did business. Their theory was that people didn't want a device that did more, they wanted one that would do less. The early Blackberry devices (think Leapfrog) did only email and, of course, calls. It was, as I've heard it, awesome. Of course more complex, multi-tasky glowy glass bricky devices won the day, led by iPhone. But Fitbit has tapped into the design idea that made Blackberry so popular: less is more.Of course Fitbit and Apple are competing in different markets. Fitbit refuses to call even it's most smart-watchy watch a smart watch. Fitbit is trying to point out the obvious. Their devices do different things. Fitbit is focusing almost solely on fitness tracking, whereas Apple has made, really, the only true smartwatch on the market. It will be interesting to see how this shakes out. -

Colbert's 'Late Show' skewers cost, content of Apple's new design book
I was honestly hoping that that would be a lot funnier than it was. The "fake product reveal" videos are so old and cliche that it was actually painful to watch.
Back to the drawing board! The embarrassing thing is that even Apple is better at making fun of itself. Remember that one keynote where they had all of those skits that had every Apple fan in stitches? Or how they began WWDC 15. FAVORITE. -

DOJ confirms successful iPhone data extraction, withdraws encryption case against Apple [u]
One theory: Apple and the FBI cut a deal. Apple would unlock the phone, but the FBI wouldn't tell. I'm not sure. I don't like to believe that Apple would do that, but it would make sense. Apple could do away with all the bad press and save their face, the FBI could get their phone unlocked... It would require a bold faced lie from the FBI, but I wouldn't put that past them considering how they've acted during the rest of this ordeal.
