  • Apple launches $350 iPad keyboard amid pandemic-fueled recession

    I feel like people are missing things here. For one, the keyboard has its own USB-C port for charging, meaning the port on the iPad is free for say, hooking up an external display or hard drive. Charging through the Smart Connector is something we've been waiting for them to utilize since it was introduced. Also, this keyboard looks a lot nicer to use than the one on the smart folio case. And that hinge looks pretty awesome if it works well in the real world! The price may be a bit steep for a keyboard, but you're getting a lot more than what others offer!

    PayPal is one to talk. They steal money directly from their customers, ban them, then talk about "security" like it's an excuse for blatant fraud and robbery. The big banks are all awful too. Apple is the good guy here and the EU is once again overstepping.

    I mean, there is. Ask anyone who's bought cheap, non-MFi Lightning cables or accessories. At some point they get borked by an update, which is why you should still buy MFi Lightning cables. I've encountered quite a few of these people that were tricked into buying cables they thought would work without issue.

    I've said it before, but the usefulness of the Touch Bar isn't necessarily Apple's fault. It's up to the developers to use it in their apps. It has so much potential, but so many people have their head so far up their a** they won't accept anything unless it's immediately good. People need to open their minds and start developing outside their comfort zone, thinking toward the future instead of hanging on to the past.

    Yeh, but $300 - $350 for a keyboard and trackpad?   And it's not even wireless (Although Apple's mounting system looks really spiffy and, in typical Apple fashion, may make the whole greater than the sum of its parts).

    I think the iPad just became an adult.
    It IS wireless. It connects through the Smart Connector.
