USB-C on iPhone 15 might still require MFi certified cables
charlesn said:If Apple continues its policy--as I expect it will--of keeping older iPhone models in the lineup to sell at reduced prices, then the switch to USB-C has to happen with the iPhone 15. (Keep in mind that Apple STILL sells new iPhone 12s on its website.) If Apple waits until 2024 to switch to USB-C on the iPhone 16, then it would not have any previous models that it could continue to sell in the EU. -

And it's not even wireless (Although Apple's mounting system looks really spiffy and, in typical Apple fashion, may make the whole greater than the sum of its parts).I think the iPad just became an adult. -
Apple launches $350 iPad keyboard amid pandemic-fueled recession
I feel like people are missing things here. For one, the keyboard has its own USB-C port for charging, meaning the port on the iPad is free for say, hooking up an external display or hard drive. Charging through the Smart Connector is something we've been waiting for them to utilize since it was introduced. Also, this keyboard looks a lot nicer to use than the one on the smart folio case. And that hinge looks pretty awesome if it works well in the real world! The price may be a bit steep for a keyboard, but you're getting a lot more than what others offer!
