Beats said:Until Uncle Joe’s repair shop starts messing up everyone’s iPhones while voiding the warranties.
Then these “right to repair” idiots will blame Apple for Uncle Joe’s failures. -

Qualcomm's iPhone 7 Plus modem beats Intel modem in areas with weak signal
disneylandman said:The same article at 9to5Mac is much more detailed, and explains that iPhones sold in China, Japan, and the United States have the Qualcomm modem. iPhones sold in other territories have the Intel modem. In those other territories, they recommend buying the Verizon/Sprint/SIM-free version, which has the Qualcomm modem. No, the Qualcomm’s MDM9645M modem, which powers the (A1660, A1661) Verizon, Sprint, and SIM-free models, features better cellular performance than the AT&T version (A1778, A1784) Intel version.

Apple Watch loses steam as global smartwatch shipments dropped in 2024
IMO the issue with Apple Watch is no reason to upgrade almost ever. A my Series 5 SS broke this year so I bought a used Series 9 SS after the 10 came out for half the price of a year ago. I notice minimal to any differences between 5 and 9. Why should people update for minor new features. Apple’s refusal to do anything different also doesn’t help. Make a round one for people who want that. Do something but sit on hot laurels -
Purported 'iPhone 7 Plus' packaging shows Lightning to Headphone Jack Adapter in box, 256GB storage
I think this is going to bomb big time. Non techies don't care about processor specs etc they care about ease of use. With no new design ( doesn't bother me but will many ) and no major new features the talk for the vast majority of users will be around the major inconvenience of their headphones not working with this and/or having to remember, carry and possibly buy dongles to carry around. The main feature of this new iPhone, if what we know is true will be a removal if something the vast majority of people use. Not a good talking point.I wonder if Apple needs to get rid of it for next year's major redesign and has decided to take the heat and lower sales this year so it doesn't detract from next year's phone. -

Samsung suspends production of Galaxy Note 7, AT&T and T-Mobile stop offering replacements
The problem is Apple almost never acknowledges a problem until sued in court and forced to. Three 2011 MacBook pro is one example.
Other companies are not like that. I had an issue with a Garmin product that is well known and when I called customer service long after the year warranty was up they said they knew of the issue and replaced it for free with the newer more advanced model. No company can make perfect products but Apple's refusal to acknowledge issues thousands are having does then no credit.
