    I go out of my way now to avoid anything to do with Facebook, same as I do for Google. The only IT company I can trust with my personal data is Apple.

    I’ve had LIFX globes (WiFi) for a while. There is always a delay (a second or more) and can often become unresponsive. 

    I bought some nanoleaf lights and strips (BTLE and Thread) in anticipation of my coming HomePod mini. 

    Still got delays of a second or more (even up to 5). 

    Having them switch over to thread with the HomePod mini is night and day. Their response is near instantaneous now. Just need all other HomeKit gear to get on board with thread.

  • iPhone 14 Pro lead times have returned to after-launch levels

    I ordered my iPhone 14 Pro Max on 10th Dec (Australia). 

    Initial email said delivery was 9th Jan. A few days later another email said upgraded to 29th Dec to 4th Jan. 

    It arrived 23rd Dec. I love that Apple under promise and over deliver.

    Awesome phone BTW. Went from 4 to 6+ to 7+ to 11ProMax to this baby.

    There's a very simple solution here.  Apple MUST be forced to allow device owners to install software from any source they choose.  It's the same issue in the Epic case, I would never suggest that Apple should be forced to host Epic's software, but if Epic wants to distribute software outside of Apple's app store, any mechanism Apple uses to prevent that is clearly and blatantly an illegal abuse of their monopoly of the iOS software market.

    It's time for antitrust law to come down HARD on Apple.
    It’s not your OS.  Nor is most of the hardware your intellectual property. So no. You can’t do whatever you want with it. 

    And “iOS software market”. What… that’s like the Toyota car market or the Kleenex Tissue market, right?   Good grief. 

    But you’ve never replied to any of the other times I or anyone else has said any of this in response to your same blatantly incorrect rhetoric. So I won’t expect you to this time either.  

    I think I’ve determined you’re not a paid shill because you’re not active enough for that. My new theory is you post this crap and then pull out the popcorn and watch just for laughs.
