Editorial: After disrupting iTunes, Spotify demands a free ride from Apple's App Store
From my perspective, it should be a hard case for Spotify to win.- Spotify has other distribution methods (i.e. a customer can sign up on their website and then download the app)
- Spotify chooses to use Apple's App Store as one of its distribution methods
- Apple gives Spotify the same terms as everybody else

Here are the vehicles and receivers with Apple CarPlay announced in 2018 & 2019
lkrupp said:My 2016 F-150 didn’t support it at first but Ford released an update to its Sync 3 system and voila, CarPlay. Also had to swap out the in dash USB module for some reason. Android Auto didn’t need that. Don’t know why.
Our local dealer (Autonation Ford of Frisco) wanted $500 to do the change, claiming that the part itself was over $200. I hate being lied to.
I ended up ordering the hub from a national parts dealer for less than $70, and installed it in 20 minutes. -

T-Mobile delays rollout of video service poised to challenge cable, Apple & others
jbdragon said:I cut the cord as I was tired of paying for a bunch of channels I didn't want. Nothing at this point has changed. It's all still bundles, even from places like SlingTV. Nothing has really changed other than who you're giving your money to. I'm sure not paying $80 a month. In fact I get most of my TV watching right from the antenna. As they say, what you can't watch, you can't miss.
For people who want a full cable package it is a good deal. List price is $100 but its currently offered at $80, plus $10 per set-top box. I can't tell if they cram fees onto the bill.

North Dakota Senate debates breaking Apple's App Store monopoly
North Dakota has 0.2% of the American population. I don't see that as a particularly valuable market for any tech company.
Given that there are zero Apple stores there, the state doesn't seem to have option to enforce this. Sure, they could ban third-party sales of iPhones within the state, but isn't that in itself anticompetitive?
On the positive side, the secondary market for used Nokia 8210s might surge.
