  • Arizona is first state to launch drivers' license in Apple Wallet

A dystopian novelist might write that in 2022, brainwashed humans began carrying a microchip that they must present to authorities on demand. (I'm not saying this is in fact the case, but it's a perspective).

  • YouTube TV hikes monthly subscription price to $65

You might as well just pay for cable at this point. You can probably get a promotional rate from the cable company for less than this.
While $65 is close to the cable companies' advertised introductory prices, YouTube TV is less expensive.

The cable company will charge set top box fees, DVR fees, broadcast stations fees, regional sports network fees, etc. After that, those intro prices end up being $85 to $100.

  • T-Mobile delays rollout of video service poised to challenge cable, Apple & others

I cut the cord as I was tired of paying for a bunch of channels I didn't want. Nothing at this point has changed. It's all still bundles, even from places like SlingTV. Nothing has really changed other than who you're giving your money to. I'm sure not paying $80 a month. In fact I get most of my TV watching right from the antenna. As they say, what you can't watch, you can't miss.
Based on their channel lineup (in Dallas), their only plan is targeted at people who want a full cable package, but want to pay less. It includes those sports networks, including the regional sports networks, which are responsible for the cost of most cable packages. They also carry the major broadcast networks and the cable networks from all of the major providers.

For people who want a full cable package it is a good deal. List price is $100 but its currently offered at $80, plus $10 per set-top box. I can't tell if they cram fees onto the bill.

  • Walmart takes on Amazon & Apple with iPhone ebook store launch

They will attract the typical Walmart Shopper. Saying that brings back seeing Videos of some Walmart shoppers a few years ago. (shudder)
These may not be the typical Apple shopper and may well use Amazon quite a bit (end of psychology bit)

They (Walmart) have to do something to thwart the rise of Amazon so while not a fan of Walmart, I wish them well in this Venture.
You might be surprised by Walmart shoppers. Go to an upper middle class suburb. You find people shopping there who spends lots of money on McMansions, luxury cars and iPhone (i.e. things that other people will see), but then will try to save a buck on everything else.

  • Here are the vehicles and receivers with Apple CarPlay announced in 2018 & 2019

My 2016 F-150 didn’t support it at first but Ford released an update to its Sync 3 system and voila, CarPlay. Also had to swap out the in dash USB module for some reason. Android Auto didn’t need that. Don’t know why.
I think the new hub requires Apple's MFI chip, so it needs to be swapped out.

Our local dealer (Autonation Ford of Frisco) wanted $500 to do the change, claiming that the part itself was over $200. I hate being lied to.

I ended up ordering the hub from a national parts dealer for less than $70, and installed it in 20 minutes.
