Discovered Apple Intelligence prompts show Apple's attempt at preventing AI disaster

Late 2025 for M4 Mac Studio & Mac Pro seems more certain now
Apple is killing me on these slow, late, or never refreshes on higher-end desktops. I was stuck on a Mac Pro 2010 until 2022, because the 2013. Mac Pro didn’t meet my needs for expansion and ports, then I was waiting on used 2019 Mac Pro deal, when they moved to ARM, then I could wait any longer for the ARM Mac Pro, so I had to settle for a Studio. I was hoping to get an M2 Mac Pro 2nd hand after an M3 or M4 refresh, but It’s looking like I’m Going to be stuck on a Mac Studio until at least 2026 or 2027. -

Apple permits first PC emulator for iOS into the App Store
Apple kills me with the lack of computer emulation on the iPad.. If they really wanted to, they could work out a way to sandbox JIT and the hypervisor. Either way, it’s perfectly fine and secure on a Mac, it’ll be perfectly fine on an iPad too. it can just be an extra layer. You have to turn on, with all a bunch of warnings. I’d even be willing to hook the iPad up to a Mac and use Configurator to turn on the option, but I really need JIT and hypervisor..I’m currently using a paid developer account to do it through AltStore. It’s a bit of pain in the butt having to re-sync at the AltStore after every reboot, but it works perfectly fine, doesn’t present any true security issues that matter to me -
Calls for Tim Cook's resignation over Apple Intelligence miss that he has made Apple what ...
I think Cook is a good CEO, and I think he’s an operational genius. The article fails to mention how much he actually contributed to Apple when he first came on board, which I feel are even more contributions than anything. He’s done a CEO. He made Apple and incredibly tight running company regarding product inventory. That being said, he’s a good enough CEO that he didn’t tank the company, and has made it more profitable, but I would argue a lot of what has happened with Apple is really just a continuation, or even writing on, what the company accomplished before Cook became CEO. The biggest growth on their bottom line is a combination of the market (that they had already established themselves in before Cook became CEO) growing in general, and their expansion in the services.I think the services growth would’ve been pursued by any decent CEO, though if you’re looking at a pure company value, I don’t think Steve Jobs would’ve pursued it as heavily as Cook have done. -
Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Ultra vs MacBook Pro 16-inch - compared
Having used the new MacBooks Pros, and seeing the specs, I can guarantee the display on the MacBook Pros are significantly better. Especially is you install Vivid to unlock the full 100-nit brightness for day to day use. Otherwise, the Macs are probably better to have for just about anything, unless you're trying to play a high end Windows-specific game that is too much to run inside Parallels or VMware. -
