  • Apple slammed with $1 billion class action lawsuit in UK over 30% App Store fee

So I guess we better launch a class action lawsuit of every business in the UK and abroad.  If you’ve ever sold your artwork in a gallery, guess what?  30% fee to cover their cost of operating the store.  And of course better shut down all those mom and pop shops that apply at least 30% to what they pay the wholesalers so they can pay for, oh right, operating the store.  What these developers, and I am one too, want is for the store owner too allow them to make money,(in some cases millions, if not billions of dollars), while the operator is the store provides them with a free storefront. I produced my app and had to do virtually nothing but hit enter and the entire world knows about my app. Yeah, I shouldn’t have to pay for that?  Give me a break!

  • Apple stresses security risks of complying with EU's Digital Markets Act

As is always the case such as buying using iOS over Android, iPhone users also have a choice of just sticking with the App Store or purchasing from a third party store.  I’ll stick with the App Store, but those who purchase from third party stores will be aware of the potential risk and if are victims of those choices, won’t be able to come back to Apple and complain.  Choice is good. Just don’t choose poorly ;)

  • Apple stole #TakeNote from Utah Jazz basketball team

Seriously, stole the hashtag?  What an over reaction to someone using #takenote.  I use hashtags in my posts all the time. Sometimes I click on them afterwards and discover they lead to something I would rather not be associated with other times I get people to click on my post because of that.  The Jazz should be in heaven that Time Cook gave them all that free publicity. What you’re saying is that no one on earth can use #takenote on their posts if it is relevant, just because a basketball team used it?

  • US DOJ attacks nearly every aspect of Apple's business in massive antitrust suit

I’m not sure when Apple forced me to become part of their Ecosystem.  I do so of my free will.  I am also a developer with apps on both iOS and Android.  I’ve used Macs since the early days. But I’ve also used PCs and other non Apple products when that’s all that was offered to me.  Consumers have a clear choice between Android and iOS and a few other options.  Why isn’t Microsoft being sued?  If you don’t want to us Macs your only other realistic choice is Windows.  What about Google?  It’s the only real search engine in town worth using.  And as far as paying a commission to the “storefront” hosting your product, 30% is pretty standard.  I’ve sold books, art and photographs in art galleries. Guess what they take?  30%!  And I’ve done commission sales. Guess what I get paid?  Oh, right 25-30%. A world without Apple and their innovations would look vastly different.

  • Apple enables AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Aid feature in the UK

What I still don’t understand is why they haven’t activated it in Canada when Helath Canada approved it for use weeks ago.

  • Apple may be getting a secret slice of Google Chrome search earnings

I seriously think that without Apple and iOS that Google would be finished as an alternative platform.

  • Apple makes room for new Macs by rethinking retail Vision Pro demo stations

Only 500,000?  That would account for 1.75 BILLION dollars in sales, not including add-ons.  Not to mention that in the first year, due to the technology and complexity of the Vision Pro, that may have been the upper limit of what they could manufacture.  A product that takes in nearly 2 billion dollars is in no way a failure.  It is the first step in a bigger plan most people,(myself included), don’t have the imaginations to comprehend what Apple will come up with next.  If a future version sells for what I pay for an iPhone Pro, I’ll skip the iPhone upgrade and get the “Vision Mini” or whatever they choose to call it.  All you folks who think Vision Pro is a failure, get back to me when you create a product that sells nearly 500,000 units in the first year and has over a billion dollars in sales, then I’ll maybe respect what you have to say.

  • AI computer showdown - MacBook Air vs. Microsoft Surface Laptop Copilot+ PC

I don’t even need to read the story to know that at the end, they will say, “of course this all depends on whether your a Windows or MacOS is the deciding factor.  As a Mac user, nothing about the Microsoft product is going to compel me to switch. My wife’s business uses windows, so her boss will likely opt for a new Windows device when upgrading.

  • Lexar Professional Go Portable SSD with Hub cuts iPhone videography cables

I ordered mine on the first day of availability on Kickstarter.  Not sure why an established company like Lexar needs a Kickstarter to ramp up production on what seems like an instant hit with the creative community.  Normally I’d not back kickstarter but Lexar seems worth supporting
