  • Facebook's Nick Clegg says Apple privacy moves are 'commercial land grab'

Nothing more cringeworthy than a business leader / politician whining about the unethicalness of the competiton doing the ethical thing.

  • We demand our Right to Repair, iFixit tells FTC

Damn right! The right to repair is such a clear cut case. Apple should champion this.

  • How to quickly share & manage file paths in macOS Finder

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Windows handily beats macOS in this regard. You click on the folder name and the path appears in an editable field and already selected so you can copy it immediately, or type in a new path to move to a different folder.

I'd be happy if they had a right-click-on-name in macOS that let you Copy.
Windows was always better in file management imo. But there is a very simple way to right click in combination with the first option listed in the article
    1. Open Finder and navigate to the desired file or folder.
    2. In the Finder menu, choose "View."
    3. Select "Show Path Bar."
    4. Enabling the Path Bar will display the complete file path at the bottom of every Finder window, allowing users to see it without copying anything.
Once you have file path displayed at the bottom of your finder window (who doesn't? I have had this option set for as long as I can remember. Literally years if not decades), you can now right click anywhere in the file path and copy the file path to wherever you clicked.
Alternatively you can just Option Right Click on any file. You can do that in any view anywhere

You may also have some luck by checking this link out. I only just discovered it and it looks intriguing.

  • Atlanta, GA Apple retail workers plan to file for union election

OMG, workers are organizing! Clutch your pearls, ladies.
Yes, shocking to think workers at the lowest level should need representation. Whatever for?  Let them eat cake.

  • Apple considering 2025 debut of touchscreen MacBook Pro

I have always thought a touchscreen to be a great additional feature. I would assume it would come with an on/off toggle in the control panel and so would be a non issue for those who find it annoying. When I first got my MBP with the touch bar muy fingers always went up to the screen bring something into focus or move it out of the way. I can think of one scenario where a touch screen would be great - airplanes. If you have ever tried to do work in a cramped environment with the laptop on your lap even the trackpad can be a pain. I see it as a three level input formation - touch screen for basic interaction, track pad for general use, and mouse for detailed and speedier control. None negate the others tho I am definitely a mouse person. My daughters are both trackpad or touch users exclusively.

  • Tim Cook's pay drops to $63 million for 2023

I am a fan, but absolutely nobody is worth that much. I am sure TC would agree if pushed. Not to get political but I favour maximum wage. At a certain point the fact that you are incredibly good at your job and that you love it, should be enough. By all means - accolades and dog park naming but corporate leadership pay and military spending are both out of control. Imagine what could be done if 50% of all that green went to 'the people'. Just sayin'.

  • M2 chip production allegedly paused over Mac demand slump

Apple is frikking doomed! I have been saying so since the mid 90's. Mark my words.

  • Volkswagen CEO isn't sure that Apple wants to build cars

Perhaps a replay of the Motorola / iPhone situation. Apple first created the software and then when the hardware fell short they created that, too. This is obviously orders of magnitude more advanced and complex, but if Apple partners with car manufacturers and creates the brain and UI, they could eventually buy one of their partners out and take it from there. But there are many good car manufacturers out there, why would you want to buy an Apple built hunk of metal?
  • Apple executives awarded stock bonus worth up to $25M

Being so lucky as to be working for the coolest company in the world these executives should distribute their bonuses equally or proportionally among all the hardworking peeps within their respective departments as a nod to the above and for the privilege of working with such unbelievable talent, be adored (mostly) by millions of customers worldwide, already be rich beyond anyone's wildest dreams, and be in the very enviable position that they can afford to dish out such vast amounts of money to the very people who help make them so successful (and most of whom probably can do with the money more than themselves). They have the opportunity to stand out as role models for the overpaid executives of the world, and to prove that they and Apple really can make America great again.

    (Now shoot me down)

  • iPhone sales volume drops, Apple's market share falls in growing India

Wait, what? What kind of rathole third-world country is this?
I realize that, given your past posting history, this may be tough, but please try not to be an a$$h0le.
You misunderstood - he was talking about 'THIS' country - i.e. the USofA. I think he was just arbitrarily thinking out loud.
