Another F for Alphabet: after abandoning Android tablets last year, Google retreats from C...
Ooooof! I really think Google thinks the money they generate from Search is, somehow, 'Free Money,' to be arbitrarily wasted!
If FaceBook wasn't around and in the news...Google would be the 'sh*tiest' company.
Best.
P.S. Could it be mobile phones have replaced crappy desktops, crappy laptops and crappy tablets? -
AirPods 2.0 -- What we expect & what we hope to see
K_in_LA said:After taking an extended weekend trip I was horrified to find both of my AirPods in the bottom of my washing machine. I put them into my ears and was surprised to find that the left AirPod worked perfectly while the right one had a notice decrease in volume. I let them sit out of the case for a day or so and tried them again this tome both of them worked perfectly. So with that being said I’m not sure that water/weather proofing is even needed.
So naturally, the first thing I did was yell at my GF and then wipe them off with a towel.
I thought they were ruined, but to my amazement, they worked! And have continued working! Unbelievable!
P.S. AirPods are a game changer...if you haven't bought a pair yet, I'd really recommend buying a set when the new charging case comes out!

Facebook CFO says personalized advertising 'under assault' by Apple privacy changes
I have deleted all my third-party apps on my iPhone, iPad and MacBook...I visit everything via a link in Safari.
I love the little "shield" icon on MacOS Safari. One-step setting!
I don't use Google, FaceBook, Twitter, or Microsoft products.
I wish Apple would create and invest in a facebook-like social media app, a twitter-like app, a search engine, an Amazon-like app and offer no ads, no tracking, etc., etc., and just look at it as an investment to make the internet experience more....how should I say it? Apple-like!
FYI: I think I have this right, of all the personal data that has been harvested by bad actors (see above) 98% has been harvested in the last 2 years!

Mac shipments grow slightly, but Apple's PC market share shrinks [u]
I guess I'm a sentimentalist; I bought into Apple's exquisite hardware and software design ethos early on.
I've always leaned towards the consumer line over the more expensive Pro line and the portable/mobile over the heavy.
I love my 2017 rose gold MacBook. It is the quintessential example of Job's ideal. Light, thin, beautiful, and just a joy to own. I don't want seven cables attached to my MacBook.
I still am rocking a rose gold Se for the same reasons I like the MacBook. (The new iPhones sure are heavy!)
I have an iPad mini 2...but hardly use it at all.
AppleTV/iTunes is the only way I watch TV. I don't go to Movies b/c people eat like donkeys!
I will not have any MicroSoft, Google, FaceBook offal on any of my devices.
I use DuckDuckGo...and very soon will be using a good VPN.
I avoid all third-party software.
Anyway...best regards.
P.S. My AirPods are the most brilliant device Apple has done since the 2017 MacBook! -
First Apple silicon Macs likely to be MacBook rebirth, iMac with custom GPU
I've have the 2017 rose gold MacBook and think it is the quintessential Mac laptop. Yes, the one USBC was a bit of a mistake. The keyboard is fine. I've had one key stick to and simply took a thin guitar pic and slid it around the key. Problem solved. I would love to see the the next gen with thinner bezels, larger trackpad, at least Touch ID (if not Face ID) a better camera for Zoom calls and, of course, extended battery life that comes with Apple silicon! Laptops should be light and super pretty! -
A 24-inch 4K monitor & Mac mini is a good option versus the Apple Silicon iMac

Wemo Smart Video Doorbell review: The new HomeKit doorbell of choice
Appreciate the review.
A bit clunky looking. Here Arizona, most of the houses are stucco. I would think there would be a lot of gaps and would not look good on the wall.
Probably, have to go with a multi-camera security system instead.
FYI: Our neighbor has a doorbell camera...UPS truck was being "followed/stalked" by package their. The UPS driver delivered a set of expensive golf clubs...The thief just parked his car in the middle of the road, when and grabbed the large package. The neighbor saw it on the camera, ran outside and go the license plat number and call the police. Haven't heard anything, but pretty the thief is toast.
