Apple planning lower cost MacBook Air for second quarter of 2018
Then you don't get the meaning of MacBook Air. I spend 10x more time on my MBA 11" (which is 1366x768) than my MBP 17", MBP 15" and iMac 27" combined. Every size of the notebook has its own merits and applications. One size may not be a perfect fit in one's lifestyle but it might be perfect for other. When I bought my maxed out 11 inch MacBook Air in 2013, I only had one thought. To get the smallest, most compact, lightest yet most powerful notebook, that I can even hide on me on various occasions. In other words, its my 11 inch iPhone and even my iPad and iPhone X can't do what it can. Not to mention its battery still lasts 10 hours of extensive usage."Forgot to mention the crappiest display of any Apple product. 1440x900. So 10 years ago." -
Smart TV adoption outpacing streaming devices like Apple TV, Roku
Sorry, not interested in mostly Android based so called smart TV. Looking forward to the next gen of Apple TV. Hurry up, Apple, I can't wait any longer! No doubt Apple TV needs a lot of improvements. One of them is to fix their audio output . If they had to remove optical out, the should have fixed their wireless/bluetooth audio output first, -
Review: Nomad's leather Apple Watch straps make a bold statement
They are crap in my opinion. First of all, their branding is all over the place. Secondly, quality of leather is not as good as I have used from other brands with minimalist or no branding. So far I have invested 5x of the cost of Apple Watch Hermes S3 and undoubtedly, Hermes leather straps are the best if you can afford, otherwise Apple's official leather bands should be your second and only choice when it comes to quality. Lucrin also make reasonably good quality (fully customizable) and finishes but those are expensive as well. But if your watch is just basic entry level, and really looking for something cheaper, then anything you can consider, market is flooded with different brands. But I would stick with Apple's official straps, regardless. Nothing comes closer to these three brands when it comes to quality material, leather, buckles and lugs. -
How to ensure you're getting full credit towards your Move & Exercise goals on Apple Watch...
I run for two hours every day at ~ 9 KM/H non-stop, and do stair-stepper 3-4 times while at work, never used power saver mode and my battery lasts (~ 5-10% left) two days before it needs recharging. I am using Apple Watch Hermes series 3. Heart monitor on my Apple Watch is very very accurate. I verified it against many other sources and its damn perfect all the time. BTW to respond to the1st poster, it really is for everyone whether you are a serious athlete or just having fun with the watch. -
iOS 17 is probably hitting your battery hard today -- but that's expected
I did a fresh install of iOS17 on my 14 Pro Max to ensure it's a clean install, no footprints of iOS 16. But here's the issue:
I can't add more than one iCloud email account. The main Apple ID of iCloud.com account gets added while restoring, and then when you try to add another iCloud.com email address account, I just keep seeing rounded circle of apps icons animation (which is new), nothing moves forward after that for hours.
I downgraded back to 16 as I can't function without multiple iOS email accounts. And now I am back to business. Looks like iOS17 is not in my luck.
Anyone else try to add more than one iCloud.com email accounts and let me know if you can.
Thanks,
Rae

Apple Watch Series 3 watchOS 7.0.3 update fixes reboot issue
I updated my AW S3 Hermes to 7.0.2 yesterday without any noticeable issues so far. Didn't know 7.0.3 just came out. Did not experience any startup issues as well.
But comparing today's watchOS version 7.0.2 installed on my watch with the one that was factory installed about 3 years ago, It definitely behaves slow compared to the factory OS when it was released. Obviously it all started out slowly that anyone will even notice. My wife is running factory OS 5.0.1 on her S3 base model, it swipes through way faster than mine.
I also sometimes wonder why mine takes so long (up to 2 minutes) to measure my heart rate at the start of my workout session. It started out some time during watchOS 6 update. -
HomePod review: Your mileage may vary, but crank it up for the ride
Nice review. Pretty much same thoughts as mine. I am an audiophile and no I didn't expect HomePod to carry EQs, etc. So far I like it. The quality of sound is amazing and definitely the best "smart speaker" out there. I have it setup in my bedroom and will definitely add one more when Apple will allow the pairings. But, my main music listening is primarily through turntable with headphones otherwise 10.2 channels in my dedicated music room. HomePod has its own use but noway it is going to replace my main music listening experience. Hell not even 10 HomePods can do that job. However, HomePod are perfect on particular occasions. Yes it definitely is a great start that will be much better over time if Apple continues. About more than a decade ago, they released one compact speaker mainly for iPods and those were great too at that time but then they discontinued. Anyways, I also don't care about streaming as I don't use Apple Music and can't even think about other services such as Spotify. I maintain my own hi-res music library but priority has always been playing Vinyl LPs. -
