  • Editorial: CBC again attacks Apple's repair policies, but still lacks knowledge of how it ...

Rossman posted a response to this editorial this morning on YouTube.

and his original post of the CBC video:

Rossmann cherry-picked what we've said. which is his prerogative. For instance, given that there are some Apple employees moderating, does not mean that they are all Apple employees moderating. I'll be giving him a call today, and we'll be talking about it.

Edit: have called and left a message.
A quick note about this one...  It doesn’t matter if it is or is not all Apple employees moderating.  That has no bearing.  It is Apple run, Apple owned and Apple approved and linked to through their official channels.  It is effectively a product/ service provided by Apple and it is 100% Apple’s responsibility who they permit to moderate.  They are a Corporation, this is their responsibility if they choose to provide it.  Period.

As as an example, I don’t hold Apple accountable for this poorly written editorial.  Why?  Because, Appleinsider is not run by Apple, provided or endorsed by Apple.  It is likely run by huge Apple fans (which is great!) rather than critics...  However, the problem is that every so often an article like this comes up that screams of bias and it just doesn’t read well, look good, or come off as sound reasoning.  Just blind Apple bias.  Louis Rossman called Appleinsider out on it.

  • Samsung has a long history of mocking Apple before copying it

Interesting article, but you do realize for years Apple took several digs at Microsoft through their “I’m a Mac” ad campaigns right?  Not exactly a morale high ground.

Samsung is an underdog to Apple, and their campaigns reflect that.  Funny though, I’ve never seen one of these commercials outside of this post!  I imagine it’s ad targeting realizing I have no interest in Samsung phones. 😂😂😂
Those Mac ads were honest & straight forward & did not make fun of Windows users. It just said for certain things Macs were better.
Might want to consider re-watching those ads.  They were straight forward and funny.  I would not suggest they were honest or dishonest.  Not even a road I’d ever go down. It’s advertising.

I would acknowledge those ads targeted “PC” as a platform and less so users (read: however -> users by extension).  Whereas the Samsung ads blatantly target not just the platform, but Apple staff as well as the “user base” which is probably where people might find them distasteful.  I imagine it is to bolster brand loyalty, but I doubt it is intended to convert Apple users to Samsung - if so, that is an interesting approach 🤔.  Cannot imagine it is that effective...

  • Senate lawmakers introduce bill targeting Apple App Store, Google Play

Well I’m sure Apple is working on other monetization methods. Maybe they make their developers subscribe to be featured on their App Store.  Developers can pay $500-$10,000-$15,000… etc based on installed base.  The more your app is downloaded the higher your subscription.  lol.  These politicians are idiots if they think they can try and control the pricing/ profitability of these corps.

I hope Klobuchar and Blumenthal are lrepared to pay both Apple and Google for all they’ve invested into their app stores for developers over the years if they’re going to give Epic (a company that has no problem with competition) a big handout. How does success equate to forcing parts of these companies into being public utilities?
