Senate lawmakers introduce bill targeting Apple App Store, Google Play
Well I’m sure Apple is working on other monetization methods. Maybe they make their developers subscribe to be featured on their App Store. Developers can pay $500-$10,000-$15,000… etc based on installed base. The more your app is downloaded the higher your subscription. lol. These politicians are idiots if they think they can try and control the pricing/ profitability of these corps.bshank said:I hope Klobuchar and Blumenthal are lrepared to pay both Apple and Google for all they’ve invested into their app stores for developers over the years if they’re going to give Epic (a company that has no problem with competition) a big handout. How does success equate to forcing parts of these companies into being public utilities?

Tesla's Elon Musk backs Epic, calls App Store fees a 'de facto global tax'
sflocal said:Perhaps Musk is getting senile at his age? I lost tracks of the number of articles complaining about Tesla's heavy-handed approach to how it essentially rips-off consumers with licensing Tesla features and killing features when a car is sold in the used market.Maybe Musk should be forced to allow other companies to provide "features" to its cars outside of what Tesla provides. Why should Tesla be the only way to install additional functionality? I think other companies could provide features at much lower prices! Cuz... "Competition" right?Musk is losing a lot of respect in my book. He should just stick to making cars and rockets instead of telling other companies how to make their products. -
Samsung has a long history of mocking Apple before copying it

Samsung is an underdog to Apple, and their campaigns reflect that. Funny though, I’ve never seen one of these commercials outside of this post! I imagine it’s ad targeting realizing I have no interest in Samsung phones. 😂😂😂Not sure about you, but my measure of a company’s success is not unit sales, it is profitability. I mean if you want to invest in a company because they are ubiquitous by all means and take that home, while I enjoy my big fat dividends.Apple Captures 51% of Global Smartphone Revenues: 3X Samsung, And 7X Huawei
And, read my follow up post to Homer - you’ll find we agree on the fact Samsung mocked users, Apple staff and the company itself. -

I would acknowledge those ads targeted “PC” as a platform and less so users (read: however -> users by extension). Whereas the Samsung ads blatantly target not just the platform, but Apple staff as well as the “user base” which is probably where people might find them distasteful. I imagine it is to bolster brand loyalty, but I doubt it is intended to convert Apple users to Samsung - if so, that is an interesting approach 🤔. Cannot imagine it is that effective... -
