Simple question. Has anyone heard of any consumer complaints about the App Store? All I’ve heard is developer complaints and government investigations. Isn’t the consumer the one the government is supposed to protect and I have yet to read of a co…

Mike Wuerthele said: They can't all be winners. We get pitched absolute loads of products, and we have limited time. The one- and two-star products are generally weeded out before we ever get a loaner. I'm not going to lie -- I had high hope…

I think it has to do with the family card. I don’t remember hearing of an issue before the card was updated.

Will HomeKit Secure Video support a daily review? The one feature I use all the time with my CircleView 2 cameras is what’s called a “Daily Brief.” It takes snippets of the major motion events of a particular time period and compresses them into a…

Gatekeepers, hmmm, let’s see. A look at the battery power tool industry is all you need to do to see what happens if you don’t have standards. Most of the manufacturers uses a different incompatible battery. Even Craftsman (Sears) and Craftsman (B…

Let’s kill the goose that laid the golden egg. There would be no App Store if Apple didn’t maintain such tight control. The Wild West would have taken over and people would have given upon purchasing apps long ago if they couldn’t be sure it was saf…

I guess that family card update didn’t go so well.

I think there are a lot of opportunists working here. As others save said only a small percentage of people sign up through Apple. Sometimes I feel Apple has a group of sharks circling around them growing considerably recently.

I still don’t understand how a setting that give a consumer a choice can be derided as it is. Facebook keeps trying to frame the conversation as Apple asserting control but Apple is just informing and allowing the user to decide. If I, as a consumer…

If it maintains the 20V specification then it would have to push 12 amps through the cable. That would require something like 14 gage wire to carry that kind of current. That means thick heavy cable unless they push the voltage up to 48 volts to kee…

Not really sure what difference it makes. Automobiles have been using serial numbers for years the typically include the year the car was made, the assembly plant, trim level, engine size, etc without issue.

This is where, IMHO, Apple could get into trouble with the Antitrust people. While an argument can be made about bribing people, I’m not sure how Apple can justify not allowing developers to limit functionality if a user chooses not to allow trackin…

This should be interesting. How can a court say “It’s ok for you to track users without their permission.” Remember, Apple is not saying they can’t track users only they have to get permission first.

Soooo... does that mean Apple cannot introduce any products that compete with existing ones. Doesn’t that give existing manufacturers an anticompetitive edge?
