In this particular case I would advice against the extra VRAM. But speaking generally one should almost always plunk down the extra cash to maximize VRAM.

It makes sense since there has been no invitation from Apple to the unveiling of the MacBooks and I refuse to believe that Apple would release such an important (and redesigned) product without an Apple Special Event.

In order for your 1 Gb Shuffle to muster 240 songs they most be encoded using 128 kbit AAC and be an average of 3 minutes long. Anything higher or longer than that means your Shuffle will swallow fewer tunes.
