On the detail of the iPadOS file system: if you prefer to store your own data files (documents) where you want, then just store them in the cloud (including a NAS). You'll be able to access them there from all of your devices anytime (simplisticly s…

I may add: 1) That tuning crank is magnetic. It is stored in a hole - shown on the photos but difficult to see. Other hex screwdrivers of the size will work, too. 2) A benefit of the headless design is that accidental detuning is less likely to …

Interesting! - Me, I'm glad with the invention of the character-based emoji, the basic ones of these, but I dislike and almost despise the use of bitmap-emoji. - Vendors tend to put emoji in the subject-line of their e-mail offers, and I tend not to…

A multi-device idea has been applied for years on battlefields. (At least in Afghanistan when we Dutch had troops on the ground there.) Imagine the number-crunching involved when both individuals in hiding and fighter jets (with full throttle) are i…

I relied on Apple Maps (and haptic feedback on my Apple Watch) twice while touring on my bicycle. The first time, in the Netherlands, it kept switching back from Walking to Driving directions, and it led me to a motorway bridge (bicycles not allowe…

(Matter of opinion) A tablet has as its unique selling point the combination of easy changing the orientation (portrait, landscape) and having its controls virtualized on the touchscreen: present if needed, absent if not. So why turn an excellent t…

Here in the Netherlands, call forwarding (but not text message forwarding) can be set by dialing some controle code before the (one) number to forward to, and another code to reset it. Me, I have two mobile numbers. From my primary number I have di…

(Matter of strong opinion) Don't use a cover that turns a good tablet into a mediocre notebook. In other words: don't apply a cover with a keyboard that fixes a tablet in a landscape orientation, but rather use a cover that can act as (or allow …

I don't feel comfortable with the "Backdoors Inside" my Macs and PCs. Don't know who designed the Cortex cores in the Kirin SoCs in my Huawei devices. (I'm in the EU.)

Matter of opinion: To me, the two (in combination) unique selling points of any tablet are: ease of changing orientations and the presence (or absence) of controls as desired. Therefore, a (more or less) fixed hardware keyboard turns any good table…

I wouldn't change operating systems (even ecosystems) when one device happened to prove unsafe. Some people may undoubtedly change over to Apple, but those with investments of time or money won't lightly do so - I assume.

When you want something Apple of around 12" screen size, and with higher resolution than the MacBook Air, you may well consider choosing either of 12" MacBook or iPad Pro. Me, I did consider buying that MacBook as a sort-of replacement for my MacBo…

(More or less repeating myself across websites) If you always need a physical typewriter keyboard and use landscape orientation, consider a notebook (the MacBook). If you often change screen orientations, consider a tablet (the iPad Pro). If you ne…
