Apparently now having even basic requirements for app quality and disinformation guards is an anti-competitive flex. In reflection of the enormous amount of covid-disinformation disseminated (including that spouted from certain political figures) -…

If you can't attract people to your app/platform/whatever without advertising based upon the exploitation of private information, then you might just have a shitty digital marketing team.

The circumstances surrounding the original Apple e-books case were always suspect. Both with Apple being relatively new to the space and there not being a legitimate tangible impact to the market by their entry. Arguably Amazon's significant (and st…

"SmartTag" that does literally less than every other tracking tag on the market.

Hmm the title is slightly disingenuous as of course Intel wouldn't be able to mimic the M1 design, nor would such a design yield the similar array of benefits in the x86 world. However I applaud the inclusion of high and low performance cores, since…

I love this, both for the advantages it brings to future non-Apple purchases. But also does away with 3rd party tracking systems which generally have vague privacy policies and questionable security. (Eg Tile; their bad rep is earned, https://www.th…

LG's screen quality hasn't really been an issue - the problem is (and you'll find an utterly breath taking number of MacBook Pro users complaining about this) - their top of the line displays seem to have significant issues. You may recall an earlie…

It sounds dumb, but these more advanced routers tend to be hostile to HomeKit / IoT devices. Often requiring the user to sift through advanced settings (and usually disabling a lot of "helpful" features in order to get more stability for IoT devices…

I think we've seen with the likes of Facebook and similar that app developers will utilise invasive and questionable revenue generation business models regardless of the app stores and they will follow these practices through to their websites. Als…

Maybe if their business model wasn’t so scummy people would actually care about their drama.

The mini is a great size. It's my opinion that smaller phones are better for one handed use, making them more practical for multitasking. It is a portable device after all. However does the Mini really offer much of an experience change from the iP…

In the world of things that pay for your livelihood, home, etc, people are less likely to throw that away for simply having a bad vibe about a company. It just sounds like he doesn't want to take the time to redevelop his skills for an ARM based pla…

As someone that uses Office on both platforms - is there any particular reason why Microsoft still can't manage to make these pieces of software on par with one another. I'm not talking about bringing over VBA or the complicated add-on features that…

Definitely not inspired by the Range Rover Evoque. /s Nothing quite says “we have no trust in our own ideas” like mimicking the styling of another company’s product.

If this was posted on April 1, I would not have thought any different.

It's a win for the environment. Now if these brands might copy some of Apple's other green-initiatives that'd be great. (Not just the ones that happen to reduce the cost of the manufacture.)

gatorguy said: Great article! So much goes on between competitors and things are almost never as they seem. Assuming there's other behind-the-scenes agreements between companies like Apple and Google, and Microsoft and Apple would be a safe b…

They’re ignorantly harming their own case and building Apple’s grounds for damages. Parading their popularity dismantles their position that Apple’s store’s rules have harmful effects on developers. Demonstrating that the title has enduring popular…

While regulatory oversight is good - I don’t see any issues with Apple Pay, in much the same way that my credit cards don’t have a monopoly on my wallet space. Convenience and user interest are not grounds to establish monopoly.
