And as to the price comparison in the PC world, one needs to add a comparable display. 5K, wide-color, 500-nits etc. PC-Counter-point would be use-what-I-have-for-now, and get great-5K later, but that's a dodge.

When AI finishes the comparo between iMac Pro and their spec'd out 2017 iMac, they should send me the 2017, to replace my 2009. They don't want that "old beater" around, taking up space! Heh heh. "Have Fun Storming the Castle!" E.

This discussion reminds me, after long-not-thinking-about it, of the iMac G4 with the semi-spherical base, and the unbelievable 20" flatscreen "floating" on that stainless arm. In its own way that was one of the best computer designs of all time. …

A nice middle ground might be to throw the advisor as shown, with the "OK", and a "don't tell me again." Experts toggle "don't tell me again" the 1st time. People like me might say OK for about 5 to 10 times until we "get it." Some might be gratef…

When things are truly scarce, like concert tickets, the mad-scramble makes more sense, as does paying double. And the "sport" of trying to get the phone soonest ("Boy was I tired the next day, but I stayed up late and scored a Nov 3rd delivery date…

We're on upgrade plan, but in November, so no supply issues. Surprisingly painful, un-Apple like experience, both when we did it first time (at an apple store, over an hour), and even more painful the 2nd time, (at an apple store, 2.5 hours). I ge…

It's worth noting that iOS does support the ability to connect multiple Apple Watches to one iPhone. This could allow someone to have a "dressy" edition or stainless steel model alongside a "sporty" aluminum one. It could also allow someone to keep …

It doesn't sound totally crazy to me (not counting project bloat). Consider their iconic Apple Cube in New York City. Apple likes an iconic store in an iconic location, even at sky-high rental prices. This is just a (very expensive) extension of …

Can the phone produce a list of 32-bit apps "soon-to-die" that I can preview in advance? Edit: Yes. I opened a known-old app, and when the phone gives the "32-bit" message, the "Learn More" button gives the full list on the phone. 2nd Edit: …

Side question. I have iPhone 7 on the AUP (2 years now; 6, then 7), and will wonder at the end of this Nov when we're due, can I buy-out the rest of this phone, leave the AUP, and keep this phone for the next few years? That could save the $3x/mon…

We have the 2009 27" 2TB iMac. Ordered the day after they were announced. I nearly feinted when I heard of the 27", which I don't think was speculated on in advance. Was already drooling over 24" of the day. I was like that graphic we see here …

My iMac is from late 2009. The first of the 27" 2TB HDD All I really care about on it are the 51,000 home photos on it from 2002-present. I use Time Machine to a (cheap I suppose) backup HD (USB-2), a second cheap usb-2 hard disk with JUST the …

The following isn't really the Apple way, but if the new connection is so much faster/nicer, could they have a temporary solution with a two headed cable in the Pro? The cable would have the "iPad end", and then the "USB-A and USB-C" end? Then the…

I still laugh at myself at my own foolishness when DVD came out. I "authoritatively" told my friends that DVD couldn't be better than VHS since the (tube) TV was "the same". Then I saw a DVD played on my own TV. It was a Warner Bros. DVD. The sp…

A 2-pair limit might have made some sense. This thread was the first I really noticed people saying "I bought 6 pair. 2 for me , 4 for profit." I know iPhones get that treatment in some markets, but I don't recall seeing too much of that here. P…
