Personally, I'm psyched about the new version of aperture. I've yet to try it, but if it's faster, that's great. It's got curves, and that's great. New brushes, that's great too. I'm just glad Apple didn't kill Aperture after all...

Great to hear everyone's insights on this issue. I don't think Aperture has a bigger supporter out there than me, but you have to face the facts sometimes. For a pro application, it's *still* on version 2 even though it's existed for around 5 ye…

I hope the OP is joking. Apple has clearly come up with a much better solid state/software solution to this problem. Why have a physical scroll wheel to gum up the works and add an obvious element of discontinuity to what will surely be a sleek an…

Frank777 is absolutely right, and he's getting at my point; Apple has neglected its in-house pro apps for a bit too long.

I sure hope you're right hmurchison... I also hope they decide to release it closer to January, rather than next December...

This thread is so very very old.

Hmm... seems like everyone's in the dark just like me. I suppose I'll wait until next Tuesday, as the promotion usually starts at the beginning of June. Anyone think this is a good idea?

Actually, it's totally possible to just use the same license twice. Not technically "legal", but Apple doesn't put any copyright protection on their software as far as I know. If you do run into issues, you can always disconnect one of the compute…

That's good to know. I suppose I won't feel bad about buying one now that I actually need one. I guess my only real concerns are: Snow leopard (probably won't come out until it's too late for me) Possible addition of touch interface to iMa…

Does anyone get the feeling that "Marble" refers to a new UI that incorporates touch controls? A few things are going to need changing in order to usefully implement touch controls on a real mac computer, including selectable areas/buttons that wil…

Who says you have to run a business that way? Who's going to buy your product if your consumers don't have jobs??

If Apple makes a portable laptop replacement device, it will be primarily a touchscreen device. A 7" screen, like a giant iPod touch. Expect this with the introduction of full touch OS X on mac computers (which I have no doubt will happen soon).…

Have you tried looking at the preferences and changing the resolution of the screen? It may help. Computers aren't really "set up" to work with TV's right away.

Alright. I'll believe it when I see it. All I know is that Windows is used more often. Period. It's under much more scrutiny. More users, more opportunities for people to be totally stupid and screw up the way it works. I use OSX. I lov…

BOO PATENTS!!!!! Yeah, it's nonsense. None of this makes any sense in the digital economy. I mean just because I think about something that's been patented, does that mean I'm violating the patent? Poo poo patents.

Yeah. Boo.

I don't have any insider information, but I'd like to get a new computer as a graduation present so hopefully they'll update within the next three months. The real question is, when will they come out with Snow Leopard? I hope at the same time as …

Are you sure that ALL of your music is on the memory stick? Nothing can be done about your iPod at this point, I'd say start with a brand new music library and import everything from the stick. Then re-sync iPod.

It's funny that Apple chooses to update JUST their MOST EXPENSIVE, FLAGSHIP PORTABLE in the midst of the recession... Hmm... something tells me they'd sell a lot more iMacs or Minis. I, for one, am ready to buy a new iMac. When Snow Leopard is …

Seems like a pretty big hint that Apple's going to implement some sort of multi-touch feature on its new macs. Just think about it; there hasn't been new iMacs for quite a while, and the displays are LONG overdue for an upgrade. The technology h…
