Also, Broadcom has been in the "enterprise software space" for years - witness the acquisitions of Computer Associates in 2018 and the enterprise security business of Symantec.

Broadcom, like Computer Associates (who Broadcom also acquired), is becoming "where software companies go to die". This does not bode well for VMware, IMO, unless they can stay away from Broadcom interference.

So you're telling me that in addition to any sales tax that's paid on the streaming subscription, they want another 9%? I guess they figure they get their cut from cable services, they should get them from streaming services too. Bet they'd find a w…

Anyone know if Apple is going to pay for testing for or provide the testing kits? If they are serious about this and the health of their employees they should. Workers don’t need a costly unfunded mandate.

For a company that values things like consumer safety and privacy, I'm a bit appalled that Apple is using TikTok for their marketing. The inane TikTok "challenges" have caused physical harm. A rash of school cancellations in my area last month were …

I have mixed emotions on the "security researcher"'s handling of this. Apple said they have the intent to patch this - but to the researcher it isn't soon enough. That smacks of ego-boosting self promotion and "blackmail" of a vendor when an arbitra…

Pouring through Microsoft’s maze of licensing agreements, it seems that one of the requirements of the Windows license is that you are running on a supported processor. The exclusivity explains why only Qualcomm chips are listed as supported CPUs fo…

Why does the idea of lumping Apple in with the likes of Google and Facebook seem like a game of “which of these is not like the others”?

VMware Fusion does not run on Apple Silicon today, but VMware has stated they are working on it. A blog post by their product manager says they have internal versions of it running. They also say they are planning a public beta. I’m keeping an eye o…

Does anyone really think that Epic et al will reduce their prices if alternative payment options are mandated?

We can all talk about the "would have, could have, should have" and have the minimum wage and employment debate all day but the bottom line is that there's a problem and it may involve a practical solution that all may not agree is perfect. We have …

If the information gathered through “spying” on customers is more valuable to a company than its actual product, then no wonder we have this “boo hoo Apple is hurting my business”. Offering me products you think I might want by spying on me or “free…
