Agreed that existing camera systems don't have enough resolution. Canon's own executives are on record saying we need a 100MP sensor at 60fps. The Explore POV app does a good job, but it's upscaling 8K to 16K and just getting there. Blackmagic's cam…

ProRAW with JPEG-XL Lossy compression is a great choice to avoid over processing without huge files.

Thank you for the review — I just watched Submerged myself and it's good to know it stands up to someone one's been there. Submerged really is a great start for modern, narrative Immersive filmmaking, and I'm sure there are creative people out there…

Spatial photos taken natively on the 16 definitely use two lenses, and you can see the difference clearly if you photograph something with complex edges — faking it often adds artifacts. Also, when you capture in Spatial, the iPhone captures a 24MP …

Shooting in a higher resolution than you plan to deliver allows you to crop into the frame without compromising the image quality. I do this all the time on my Lumix GH6, which lets me shoot 5760x4320, using the whole 4:3 sensor, in "open gate" form…

Very confusing of Canon to release two 3D lenses at nearly the same time, but the larger lens version you've shown here is the "RF-S 3.9mm f/3.5 STM":https://www.cined.com/canon-rf-s-3-9mm-f-3-5-stm-dual-fisheye-lens-announced/ The one shown in App…

The "most recent two versions" issue is actually a huge problem for InDesign, because it has a unique document format for each release (CC2017, CC2019 etc.). That means that if you want to collaborate, with two users working on the same file, they h…

FCP X already supports VR headsets, since last year's update. Here's a 360° video I shot at the official reveal:
