blastdoor said: So I wonder what the hardware specs are for those servers. Are these Intel/AMD CPUs with Nvidia GPUs running Linux? Or are they some kind of custom ASi-based servers running macOS? It would be cool if they packed a bunch M2 M…

Being from Jony Ive I assume there are no wired audio outputs, and the only output is Bluetooth 4.2.

I was just using AllTrails for the first time this past weekend. They have a huge amount of data and the app manages it remarkably well. Hikers love it. Apple's interest in this space will not displace AllTrails... soon.

Lack of GPU support is a sure sign that Apple is going to return to a 12-18 month product lifecycle for the Mac Pro. That 76-core GPU may look hot today but you can be sure that AMD, Nvidia, and even Intel are not just going to sit still for the ne…

So one of the launch titles for Apple's entry into VR will be a 4 year old game with minimalist graphics? cool.

I love the idea of a small foldable phone, but even folded, pixel fold is 3.1" wide -- even wider than an iphone 14 pro max. I'm not saying there isn't a market for an $1800 foldable phablet, but this form factor makes no sense as a foldable phone.

Two things about this rumor make no sense. First, haptic feedback solves the problem that you need to be able to tell when the control has been engaged, but it doesn't provide any tactile feedback about the current state of the toggle. For a mute …

Non-invasive, convenient glucose monitoring will for sure be ground-breaking. And just as surely the Apple Watch will not be the first consumer device to offer it.

A comparison between an ultra high end macbook pro (which will never replace a gaming laptop) and an ultra high end gaming laptop (which will never replace a mac, or really be used for anything other than gaming). Such foolishness. But that's EXAC…

So either Apple is going to abandon the $2k price point for the desktop market (unlikely) or the next Mac Pro is going to fill in the $2k price point (laughably unlikely). This is a bad take. Look for the Mac Pro to be extremely differentiated and…

I, for one, welcome Apple introducing new form factors, rather than rehashing the same old form factors year after year and leaving all the physical innovation to Samsung. Especially so if it means diversifying their overall product lineup. I'm su…

If Apple does release Mac Pro without expandable memory (as seems likely), look for it to have a second tier of lower performance memory, analogous to what Intel did with Optane. There is no point putting an enormous number of cores in a machine if…

Disaster for whom, exactly?

How convenient that it can't be benchmarked against any Mac that supports an external or third-party GPU.

It seems to me Apple knows they are facing a very long product cycle and decided to push some incremental improvements out to market now, knowing that these are going to be the products available for sale while they're working on getting bigger a pr…

Just bought a 5th generation ipod mini, instead of the current 6th generation, for primarily this reason.

Rogue01 said: No one would be dumb enough to pay $30,000 for an original iPhone. The current bid at $8K is ridiculous and no guarantee the person making the bid would follow through. With no labels on the shrink-wrap, who is to say the pers…
