  • It's the hardware that's part of the tremor package that interests me. Right now there's only the cine-wave card from Pinnacle that can do HDTV on the mac(i know AJA and Digital Voodoo will have cards shipping soon). If Apple had an integrated work…
  • [quote] Tremor features real-time I/0 in 601 and HDTV format, including 1080p24. [quote] Tremor is an integrated software/hardware solution running on Hewlett-Packard computers with storage supplied by Ciprico. Now this is interesting. Coul…
  • It's un-recoverable
  • I had this exact same problem with my PISMO. The problem would spring up and i could fix it by pushing on the hinges near the screen. The problem was that while i was doing this the cable was actually being destroyed by being crumpled. My screen eve…
  • Oh - The new Nike irons look nice. 1. Handicap 12 2. mid irons 3. Putting 4. 325mtrs Where i live we have a recently finished Greg Norman designed golf course - "Pelican Waters" it's nice. I'll play whenever i can but that usually means ab…
  • Im guessing that the hardware component of Tremor will be re-packaged and included in a high-end digital video worksstation from Apple. I believe the tremor card could handle uncompressed capture among other nice features.
  • Well you can re-link media in your clip bin by ctrl-clicking on the clip and then re-linking to the new location. This process won't update the clips in the timeline though. I've never actually been through this process so i don't have a good answer…
  • The combonation of AE and commotion is hard to beat but discreet have done it. Combustion 2 is an outstanding piece of kit with some great features. The colour correction, tracking and keying come straight from their high end flames and infernos. It…
  • Has anyone actually gone through the process of outputting a job using the new transperency features ? Have there been any problems ? That, to me, is going to be the number one feature if it works correctly. I dislike Quark. It's old and it feels ol…
  • Flash is in a whole other league. Livemotion has a much more intuitive animation interface with the After effects style timeline, but it's actionscripting is very basic. If you're doing a simple animation yes livemotion is ok, anything else and Flas…
  • GoLive shouldn't touch your ASP tags. Version 5 won't and version 4 doesn't touch my ASP tags.
  • Yes GoLives code for rollovers etc is terrible. I use it to layout my tables etc and then code the rest by hand. Javascript rollover code is everywhere and can be easily adapted even by me and im far from experienced with coding.
  • [quote] I'm tired of the bullshit, and mostly wrong info on cocoa vs. carbon. Are you ? Oh you poor thing.
  • [quote] Its best not to demonstrate ignorance in a public forum. It's best not to come off as an asshole either.
  • It's no final cut pro killer. Solid and boasts the "Avid" interface which is a plus to all those editors out there with avid experience. I still find FCP to be a great program, very intuitive and solid.
  • I agree DVCAM is better looking than SP. The problem comes when you capture and work with DV, titling, effects, compositing. The best way is still to capture DV and then work uncompressed via a voodoo or igniter board then go back out to DV. The qua…
  • Can you outline which Rt Cards you may be speaking about ? Most guys producing for broadcast simply edit at DV and then get a transfer to Beta-SP or Digi-Beta. Obviously the quality is never better than the 5-1 compression of DV.
  • A realtime DV card ? Are you using it for offline editing with the DV codec or is DV good enough for broadcast in your area ? The realtime cards give you a preview to an external monitor (NTSC or PAL). FCP only allows realtime previews to the des…
  • Until pre-presses houses support InDesign fully, Express will continue to have a solid marketshare. I think over time InDesign will catch Xpress as it develops into a market hardened, commercially viable app. Price alone is a major selling point …
  • Down here in Australia our biggest publishing company (magazines, newspapers etc) just swapped the entire company over to InDesign. Quark as it stands now is going to lose the battle. As soon as pre-press shops sort out their rips and workflow Quark…
