Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for!

Yes, I get that with my iPod. But I always thought that I hadn't flicked the Hold switch or something. Now that the iPod has a clock, will it drain the battery even when it's switched off?

No I haven't tried that. It's food for thought. Thanks, torifile ?

Yeah, it was Disc Copy that I was wondering about in particular. Doesn't Disc Copy ask you for a disc just before it's ready to go? Maybe if you insert a blank CD into the drive, and hit "Ignore" prior to launching Disc Copy, it'll be smart enoug…

I hadn't thought of that. Thanks!

Thanks AllInOne, I tried that last night and it worked a treat! You stopped that particular cancer in its tracks!

iPod every time. I was immediately disappointed by the sound quality, but it turned out that it was just the headphones that were supplied. I tried my Sony MDR-888s and the difference was unbelieveable! Far better quality than the Creative DAP Ju…

So my options were: RAID 0: 160GB, fast but twice the chance of things going tits up. RAID 1:80GB, slow but total data security. No RAID: 160GB, slow but 50% data security. I decided to go for: OS & Apps on a single 80GB 7,200 drive…

Wow, this is more complicated than I thought. Well I was thinking about going for the 1GHz Dual machine with the 80GB 7,200rpm drive. In addition I also have two identical Maxtor 80GB drives that are 5,400rpm (I think they are UltraATA/66). I'…

Thanks kui77, I'll do just that!

Wow! Sorry guys, been away for a while. I didn't realise that so many people had responded! A big thank you from [rainy] Glasgow! Keep up the good work!
