  • A friend of mine once had a web server that was spread out in pieces on a living room wall. presumably, the HD is busted, but after replacing just that, perhaps it could be put to use as such, assuming the motherboard is intact.
  • i'm going to this one. it'll be my first. i don't have a pass expensive enough for the keynote, but whatever... it sounds like it will be much fun. i regret never making it to the ones in boston (i was usually away from home over the summer)…

  • [quote]Originally posted by Willoughby: Yeah, I know its refurbed..but who cares. That price is awesome. Both my old iBook and my G4 come from the refurb page. It's saved me over $1k in the past 2 years, and both of them have been excellen…

  • [quote]Originally posted by M3D Jack: We don't even have Pizza Hut in Boston... Seriously, closest one is about ten miles away in Medford, and they won't deliver to Boston There's one in Natick, too, but i'm about 3 miles out of its range,…
  • [quote]Originally posted by pscates: Well that's just lame, defeatist "stick it to me and I'll take it gladly" thinking. Agreed, but i *am* a Red Sox fan, after all Seriously, though, i agree that it's a terrible outlook on things, b…
  • [quote]Originally posted by spaceman_spiff: ...When did that become the litmus test for being a true fan? It's not to say that anyone isn't a 'true fan', however one wants to define that, merely that it's a little disingenuous in this day an…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Fran441: I come from the region of the country that cares about baseball the most. Here in New England, baseball is still the #1 sport, despite the fact that the Red Sox NEVER win the World Series and despite the fact …
  • i think he's much smarter than many of his detractors give him credit for. After the columbine shooting thing, he wrote a really excellent essay (i think it was in rolling stone) on the whole thing. i'm sure you can find it with google. As far as…
  • Something about this movie just didn't sit right with me; i really enjoyed the first hour and some; the tension was excellent, and i definitely liked the theme of 'war of the worlds' on a personal scale. but after that, i felt that it started beati…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Mandricard: Here come the next three games! I say Sox take them 2-1. Heh... i'd be more inclined to think 1 out of 3 (tonight), but i'm somewhat of a worrywart. But if a few things go right for the Sox, the yanks…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Fran441: The Red Sox win the first game of this series 3-1. Pedro pitched very well. Indeed he did. The best part was when Posada was called out on strikes after failing to check his swing, and stood there in…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Fran441: This weekend is another huge series in the AL East, as the Yankees and Red Sox play a four game series over Memorial Day weekend at Fenway. ... Should be a good series any way. Real baseball for a change.…
  • [quote]Originally posted by Bozo the Clown: What's up with the Yankee's defense? On Saturday they looked terrible. They're getting almost as bad as the Sox when it comes to turning a double play.... Yeah, their defense definitely sucked. But …
  • Heh... my brother used to be a goalie in high school, and had a cool t-shirt that said 'Jesus Saves!' with a picture of jesus doing a dive across the net to snag the ball. Good stuff.
  • To the Boston-area folks looking to go see the Sox this year, take a look in this past Sunday's Globe. There's an order form for packs of four tickets (four games, 1 ticket each, that is), with discounts that make them cheaper than last year's tick…
  • It's a somewhat hard thing to do depending on the circumstances. Chiefly the traditional toast at the reception. One has to strike a balance between schmaltzy, amusing, and deep while maintaining a G rating and sufficiently satisfying the bride an…
  • One of the 'good' aspects of the Red Sox' new ownership is their intent to keep Fenway alive. Their plan is actually pretty well thought-out and clever. They realize that having a historic ballpark is what will keep fans/tourists coming even in ye…
  • Trust me, it's in there. i have an iBook SE/366 (the original graphite one) with a 4MB Rage Pro. Before, i could get by playing wee little QuickTimes, maybe. Now i can play the full-size AoTC trailer perfectly without a hiccup. Everything else…
