Shuts a plant in Arizona for Apple and builds a plant in China for Samsung.... Is the some exclusivity or IP involved? Do Apple have alternative suppliers?

RIM is probably hoping Steve Ballmer will get out his chequebook, it is highly likely that they are already talking. I imagine MS won't want to pay for the company but will just pay RIM to be a partner like Nokia, a lot cheaper and less risk, it…

MS is in a very vulnerable at the moment now is the time for Apple to make a bold move in productivity software to break the MS Office monopoly. I am hoping for some big announcements in the next couple of months: - A new version of iWork for …

More Google doublespeak and they wonder why they have a credibility problem. The MM acquisition will probably go down in history as the moment Google 'jumped the shark'.

Google's whole "Don't be Evil" edifice is crumbling. The hypocrisy of Google's attack on the patent system is breathtaking. Google, like most companies, attract early investors by having patented IP, and their continued success is based on their …

Google employees say this kind of rubbish all the time. The breathtaking hypocrisy will probably go unchallenged in the main stream press because it makes inflammatory copy that garners clicks and energises their fanboy base. Of course Google rut…

If Google did the right thing and relinquished control of the WebM to a standards body I would be supportive but they haven't because they want to control WebM just like with Android. Google likes to use the term 'open' because it appeals to peop…

Apple has popularised the term "App Store" so Microsoft wants to steal it. Nothing new, M$ has been trying to pass itself as Apple for decades.... BTW In the past Microsoft has always used the term "Programs" and Apple has always used the term…

I live in Australia and all carriers have the iPhone and in my experience Android phones are still a rarity (which seem to backed-up by the sales data). In Australia, Telstra has the best network by far and just before the release of the iPhone 4…

The whole 'journalism' argument is bullshit. 1. Chen should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 2. Gizmodo and its parent company should be prosecuted for materially benefiting from Chen crime. - Certainly any revenue generated from …

Unless they can sell this thing for $29 without a contract, does M$ seriously think 'the kids' want a single purpose phone???? I am surprised this project wasn't killed long ago ..... PS On a positive note some M$ executives will see this as…

From a business perspective the big thing about the iPad was the productivity apps and the big thing about OS4 was iAd. iAd is more about creating pull towards HTML5 and sending a signal to Google to stop dicking around with Flash.
-
The change in the SDK agreement is the push and iAd is the pull from Apple to help move towards HTML5. I hope Apple release good HTML5 authoring tools so iPhone developers can make money form Apps and money from writing the Ads!

Palm failed business plan 101. They shafted there existing Palm OS customers and their new product, the Pre, never had a clear benefit or audience and therefore no compelling reason to exist. Palm probably thought they were taking the best hardwa…

My guess is blu-ray and ExpressCard/34 slot. Audio pro-consumers would like ExpressCard/34 for low latency audio interfaces and dsp. I agree pci express would be better but I can't see Apple making compromises with the iMac form factor.

Read http://macs.about.com/b/2008/08/21/e...to-the-mac.htm there are quite a few articles on this patent. There is no guarantee but it makes sense. Deliver a benefit (target disk mode) Try and patent it Deliver it using standards Apple has a …

To me, the interesting thing about OSX is it's support for multiple processor architectures. Currently OSX supports Intel & PowerPC, and with the iPhone they are adding the ARM architecture. In future Universal could mean ARM/Intel/PowerP…

I agree with most people that a future high-end ATV should include twin tuners and blu-ray. This would be a really cool "post pc device" that Jobs referred to in the D5 interview with Bill Gates Like always, what Apple can bring to the table is s…
