I hate that something so obvious needs to be suggested but if they could operate as lag free computer speakers, I would buy them in a heartbeat. Yes, including on (gasp) windows devices. It’s not hard. It’s just stubborn refusal and would make teams…

Interesting that you show a picture of the ecobee thermostat by don't mention it. Currently have 2 ecobee thermostats and the Schlage Smart Sense - both have been problem free. Maybe it's just me but I'm very anti-hub. I don't want to end up wi…

Another brick on the road to Ax based Macs...

All of these pieces from AI are on the money. There is a reason that Apple has spent as much time laying the foundations (Metal, Grand Central) to make all these things work - the question is when, not if. It's not like Ax chips are ready to take …

It's simply a matter of when, not if. The writing is 100% on the wall, the only amazing thing is that people refuse to see it.

I'm ready to dive in with home automation and security, and I was hoping things would be a bit more settled after CES... But it doesn't seem we are quite there yet. Some interesting announcements, but not a lot of clarity on compatability or what Ho…

Not sure how there are still doubters, but everything in this article shows that Apple is laying the groundwork for future A"x" based MacBooks and iMacs... A9 is only a year away. Metal will make it work.

The Kinect part is gimmicky. The important bit is the HDMI passthrough, and I've felt for years that this is exactly what the AppleTV needs. With your cable/sat box passing through the AppleTV, it suddenly has much more content to present to the u…

Just thinking.... Apple TV as an input to current TV has certain limitations. You have to turn on the TV (duh), and you are focused on that one input. Each TV input stands alone. If Apple makes the TV, it controls all the inputs... then you can get …

I couldn't migrate my Mobile Me ID to iCloud... probably because my MacBook was still on Leopard. I then installed iOS5 on my iPhone... and it prompted me to sign in to iCloud with my Apple ID. It recommended that, if you use one Apple ID for iT…

This is some nice technology and all, but lets think for a moment- what we are going to actually connect these Light Peak cables to? Think of how many ethernet ports there are out there. Of how many HDMI/DVI/VGA ports there are out there. Of how man…

Thanks Hailstorm, I had already forgotten the Dash name... But this is exactly what their platform aspired to be. Apple actually has the sufficient installed base to make it work though. (And so does RIM, for that matter, now that it owns Dash)
