  • Still no luck with the FTP download, but I checked the MIME settings for Quicktime and theoretically .qcp is one of the filetypes the QT plugin should recognize. I'm all up to date as far as Quicktime updates, OS updates, Security Updates, etc. Hmph.
  • Thanks, I'll try it provided I can get the download link to work. The FTP site is taking its time about letting me in.
  • I like my coffee like I like my women. Ground up and in the freezer.
  • For the first two years I was in college, I lived in a dormitory that was co-ed by room?guys and girls living (in single-sex rooms) on the same hall. One bathroom per hall, with urinals, stalls, sinks and showers. Quite a learning experience re: wom…
  • WRNR in Annapolis. (Look for Baltimore in the iTunes listings). I'm surprised to see it listed in iTunes, though, since it's not owned by some big megacompany. This station is one of the few things I really miss about living in Maryland.
  • Cover Songs. I created a killer mix of cover songs, but when I uploaded it only nine of the tracks were available for downloading. Oh well. Cool feature, but all it really does is turn each one of us into an Apple billboard. "Buy the songs that s…
  • Like it says, I'm in Richmond. I like the fact that when one snowflake falls, the city just about shuts down because so many people here freak out at the notion of snow. I like our almost completely corrupt city council. I like living in the sect…
  • Good luck with the interview. I was interviewed last year for a sales position at the Apple Store that opened in the Short Pump Town Center. First step was a phone interview (actually, for me, two interviews) with an Apple recruiter. It was lengthy,…
  • Not a misspelling, since the word is obviously spelled correctly. It's actually a malapropism.
  • Here's why I'm against the subscription model: Let's say you signed up for some book-of-the-month club, and by paying a membership fee you got one or two books per month and you only had to pay shipping and handling costs on any other books you want…
  • Your poll doesn't feature the option I would select. In Virginia, you aren't required to register with a political party when you register to vote (nor when you vote in an election?even Republican or Democratic primaries) I don't belong to any polit…
  • Well I think it would be silly to presume that it's associated with a new show, given all of the references to the credit card company in the movies as well as on the main page of the site (click on the Amex card on the table and you'll get to sign …
  • "I pray it has nothing to do with a new TV series." Your point? I was merely trying to tell you it has nothing to do with a new TV series.
  • johnq, it's an American Express promotion. Seinfeld has been a spokesman for the company for a number of years.
  • Currently unemployed (interviews, interviews!) and turning 30 in May (out of college since 1998.) So, no. Unless the standard salary ranges for people with my kind of job experience skyrockets.

  • Yikes. That sounds like a pipe dream, except for people in some industries/geographical areas I guess. Talk about raising the bar...

  • I know it's a meaningless statistic, because salaries are dependent on the industry, the company's budget, the average income in a particular location, etc. I just thought it was interesting to consider. I've got friends my age who pull down 40, 50,…

  • Slightly off topic, but did you all know that using the 10 digits and 26 letters available for the codes, it's possible to generate 3,656,158,440,062,976 different ten letter/number combinations? Apple may only produce 100 million winning caps (or p…
  • I don't have much use for the pre-programmed stations, although I sometimes check out WFMU because of the variety there. You can't add to the list of stations in the radio section, but you can use iTunes to listen to streaming content from probably …
