Gonna chime in and say I want SL-style bugfix focus, as well as a UI revamp/unification. To see what I mean regarding UI revamp, just open Preview... Personal preference is for the lightest style. Actually super tempted to triple boot into ht…

Is it just me, or is that Helvetica in the title bars there? I also noticed that in the screenshots of autosave/versions on the apple site - look at the contextual menu off of the title bar there.

Now, if only they'd se fit to round off the bottom corners consistently (seriously, left one rounded, right one now the only square, wtf.)
-
Additional WTF moment. Why on earth is the fullscreen button in the right hand top corner?

Graphically, I like the look of all the UI elements that appear in the System Preferences screenshots. The textual tabs/slidey look ok (though I don't get the need for sliders). iCal and Finder, not so much - it's a little overly dark and texture…

I've seen this (in plastic PC laptops) for play/pause, volume etc. It looked quite nice superficially. I don't think this patent has a lot to stand on, though.

When thought of from a touch UI POV then the ribbon makes sense. Contextual, fingertip size icons. But yes, ATM it is sometimes painful, and screen-consuming.

I would take "based on iPhone OS" as based on iPhone. I expect some new API's. Remember that the iPhone core is standard Darwin, minus the Java VM, print system and other irrelevant stuff, then Cocoa Touch over the top and optimise like crazy. Po…

There's also that rumored 22' touchscreen iMac... I think that it would be a more likely candidate for the (i)Mac touch name. Either that OR the tablet, not both. It would be too confusing. Taking into account that 'Mac' has always referred to…

The ultimate question about the tablet is whether it's a primary (full mac) or secondary (jumbo iPod) device, or an interesting mix. I predict mix, accomplished by constant hooks back into your main system. Multitasking and file management work a…

Motorola Backflip seems to solve the 'accidental input' side of things: http://ces.cnet.com/8301-31045_1-10428131-269.html

Steve Jobs: brilliant at UI, not so good at underlying stuff Snow Leopard: very minor UI updates, lots of under-the-hood Rumored Tablet: supposedly taking up most of Steve's time, as is iPhone Conclusion: Steve had little to do with Snowy.

The order of events seems fairly self-evident. PA Semi talks to Imagination Tech. Further secret Apple-specific development is done by PA.

In Australia at least, you can buy: iPhone 3G 8GB (also equivalent 8GB iPod Touch) - old tech iPhone 3GS 16/32 GB (also equivalent 32/64 GB iPod Touch) - new tech

iPhone 3,1. Must be those PA Semi people everyone's gotten so excited about.

@Tsunami: good catch, so to speak. It's not as if the people here don't use Keynote.

Slightly out on a limb and it's been said before in a few places, but does anyone else out there think that it would be possible for Grand Central to further offload processing to Xgrid? Done properly it should look very similar (to developers) as …

Something important to note is that LightPeak appears to have a dedicated controller chip (though that would be inevitable I guess given the need to interpret the optical signal). This saves LP from USB's issue of reliance on the CPU, and would giv…
