  • Apple 'Gather round' 2018 iPhone event scheduled for September 12

If a watch only displayed time, sure... a round face. There is too much wasted space in the round form factor for most apps and purposes. Slim down the bezels on the current form, and it'll have even more usable screen real estate to display more information. To fit the same amount of information into a round face means it has to be wider than the 42mm Watch. Nope. I laugh my a$$ off when I see these gigantic, round Shamdung watches some people are wearing. They're hideous. Besides, the attachment point for bands still has to be a straight edge, so... straight edge on a round watch... I don't see Apple doing it. If they do, the Series 3 will be my last Apple Watch.

Is there any possibility that iPhone X Plus screen would be full 4K?

    That will be huge.
Out of curiosity, what's the use case of a 6-inch 4K screen?
Watching iTunes 4K movies that I have plenty.
That'll matter on a screen so small... why? Pushing such high pixel counts on such small screens is nothing more than marketing hype, as density that high on such a small screen only causes more issues than needed, such as battery consumption and performance degradation. It's pretty much impossible to see pixels on the iPhone X as it is, unless you're intentionally trying to see them at an inch away from your eyes. The only way I can see the pixels on my iPhone X is if I use a jeweler's loop.

  • New rumor claims 2018 iPad Pros will be smaller, drop headphone jacks

They should just replace the Lightning port with USB-C which would allow audio, 4K video, MIDI, pHigh-speed ower, etc all from one port. That would be “pro”.
Um... Lightning has offered this since it started with the iPhone 5...

I HATE USB-C on my MacBook. It's a pain in the ass compared to Lightning.

  • Comparing the Dell XPS 13 9370 versus Apple's 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

    Dell:
+ ports Most people won't need them
+ replaceable SSD and RAM (repair/upgrade) Most people wouldn't upgrade/replace
+ SSD PCIe (Same as Mac) Already proven the SSD in the new MacBook Pros are NOT the same - Nearly 10 TIMES FASTER than every other on the market
+ price Same MSRP as the MacBook Pro - Some discounts on the Mac can be found at some online retailers - Mac has resale value - get what you pay for
+ high quality keyboard Nicer key travel does not mean higher quality
+ function keys Most people don't use them
+ 4K display Useless on something this size, and the actual quality isn't as good as the MacBook Pro's screen
    + slim, nice look Subjective
    - doesn‘t run macOS - Hardware and software are not created in unison to optimize performance metrics.

    Mac:
+ cool design Nearly every other company is making at least one MacBook knockoff, and have been for years
+ runs macOS And Windows, if needed - hardware and software created in unison for optimal performance
+ Maybe better build quality (questionable) Proven
    - everything soldered and glued (RAM, SSD, battery), environmental horror Most people don't care - obvious since this isn't hurting sales
    - TouchBar Can be useful depending on the apps used
    - Weak keyboard, no function keys Those who've adapted don't really complain - see above re function keys - I'm using a 12" MB with first-gen butterfly keyboard - I've adapted.
    - no ports, just adapters Most people won't care or use more than just a USB-A hub
    - price See above - the Dell will never touch a Mac's resale value - you get what you pay for
    - OpenGL deprecated in Mojave It's like Flash all over again - developers need to get with it or lose out - better technology for better performance

so basically the Dell wins, but it doesn‘t run macOS. But with the 15inch it gets really interesting

Clarified a few things for you. Apple caters to the majority of customers, and the majority of buyers of these machines never use them to their full potential.

  • AT&T's DirecTV Now follows Sling TV, YouTube TV in hiking monthly fees

...and here we go. Going to see regular cable prices for these streaming services soon.
Yeah. If AT&T decides to slide in an increase on my "locked-in" price of $35, I'll be dumping it. We usually don't even watch it all that much. Same for Amazon Prime. I rarely order much from Amazon, and we don't often watch anything on it. We'll probably end up back to just Netflix and Hulu in the near future. I'll see what Apple brings to the table. If we can get something decent for about $30, including our family plan Apple Music, I may jump on it. That would mean only about $15 for Apple's TV service.
