  • AT&T's DirecTV Now follows Sling TV, YouTube TV in hiking monthly fees

I haven't gotten any notices of an increase to the package I jumped in on right after launch, $35 for the Go Big package. Maybe AT&T is sticking to the promise of keeping that price until I cancel. Time will tell.

  • Here are over 150 new features and changes in iOS 12 for iPhone and iPad

Soooo... are we FINALLY going to get a more intuitive way to add photos to emails? You know, like a camera icon near the keyboard like every other text input app? I gave up hope that something like that would ever come to email.

  • Apple's 2019 iPhone lineup may mark the end of the Lightning connector

Not happening. If anything, Apple with start to include the USB-C to Lightning. USB-C ports are physically larger than Lightning, taking up valuable space inside an iOS device.

My MacBook has USB-C, and I HATE plugging it in. Compared to Lightning, it's cumbersome, and feels fragile.

  • Messages in iCloud: Everything you need to know

    ivanh said:
From a user perspective, If I enable Messages on iCloud, I would have to pay monthly fee for iCloud service immediately. Saving the iCloud costs in three years mean I can get a 128GB iPhone instead of a 64GB, or a 256GB iPhone instead of a 128GB.

I am happy to stay with Messages on current “Apple cloud”.  All messages are readily searchable on all of my devices includind iPhone, iPad, multiple Macs even without internet. I don’t have any synchronisation problem among devices. Why do I need to enable Messages on iCloud? It doesn’t make any sense to me.
I pay 99¢ per month for 50GB of iCloud storage. That's $36 over 3 years. That's a far cry from the cost to bump to the next storage tier.

  • Android Xiaomi Mi 8 shamelessly copies iPhone X

... so the question is why do these copycats still need a bezel at the bottom? They put the finger print sensor on the back.
Because they aren't using the more expensive flexible OLED panels that Apple's using. They need the chin to house the connections for the display, while Apple's folds underneath, keeping all connections underneath the display, instead of at the end of it.
