  • Apple Cinemas may come to regret their name as lawyers step in

Hopefully 2010 is far enough away that they'll be able to use the elapsed time to demonstrate that the trademark is now generic.

Lots of places and things are named apple, including a very common and popular fruit.  This is why common English words should NOT be trademarkable in the first place.  Apple should have stuck with Apple Computer if they wanted something trademarkable.
Maybe but Apple has been providing “cinema” type services for quite some time. Their logo could be seen as being too close to Apple’s logo. Apple is required to protect its patented hardware and trademarks so even if they lose they’ve done what’s necessary for its stock holders.

When apple cinemas was a single outlet it wasn’t worth the effort but once it hit SF, Apple needs to challenge it.

  • Apple is probably stuck with iPhone manufacture in India

Anyone who knows anything knows the majority of scammers are located in India. I would rather deal with China than India. My hope is that once the trump administration is history we can get back to some sane country interactions.

  • Apple still effectively blocks rival browser engines on iOS despite EU order

I have DuckDuckGo on my iPhone and iPad so what's the problem? I also don't use google for any search engine because there are alternatives. Is this only an EU issue? If so, then the EU needs to talk to browser companies instead of bothering Apple.

  • Apple leaders join Sun Valley billionaires' summer camp for 2025

The sad thing is that none of these people actually do the work necessary to make a billion dollars, they simply lead lots of vastly lower paid employees who are the real people who design and build the products these people get the credit for. Sorry Tim Cook, you haven't designed an Apple product and only got your job because Steve Jobs unfortunately died. Of course even Steve wasn't the one who designed the first Apple products, he was the great(est) salesman (not snake-oil salesman) in history.

  • How to stop your LG or Samsung smart TV from tracking you

I have my Apple TV connected to a Sony Bravia, which is packed with garbage using some kind of an Android-based system for TV viewing just like the Samsung TVs. I updated its firmware once since buying it years ago although I now use a simple TV antenna to get local channels. Do these TVs have the ability to push information back through AppleTV and broadcast TV antennas? It wouldn't surprise me if that capability has been introduced through broadcast TV but it would really upset me if Apple installed a return data capability taking images of people watching TV along with everything that shows up on the TV from any input source.
