iCloud class action settlement payout won't even buy a cup of coffee
JP234 said:FileMakerFeller said:lkrupp said:I get notices of class actions occasionally on companies in my investment accounts. My financial advisor always tells me to ignore them because they’re not worth the effort to respond. Years ago there was a class action against Apple over OS 9. Know what I got? An install disc of the last version of OS 9.My issue is that some of these you have to keep er-applying as time goes on or you get dropped. I applied for one against a travel scammer that was supposed to be worth a couple hundred. In the end I gut $0 as I missed a deadline of some sort, despite having applying using my special code and jumping through all the hoops. -

Apple plans to expand AirDrop time limit to customers worldwide
Apple_Bar said:shamino said:Before jumping into "Apple is taking orders from the Chinese government" theories, there may be other perfectly reasonable reasons for this change. Like, for instance, the fact that AirDrop has been used as a medium for sending obscene images to strangers. By preventing phones from being set to "Everyone" at all times, you block most of this, since the attackers will only be able to send to people who already have him in their contacts list.FWIW, I leave my devices set to "Contacts Only" precisely because I don't want any possibility of a stranger sending me anything. I can share content with my friends and relatives, and that's plenty. -
Apple removed over 540,000 abandoned apps from the App Store in Q3
