  • T-Mobile 'Phone Freedom' brings back two-year contracts & more hotspot data

What is this talk about contracts?   None of the carriers have contracts for their service.

What they do have are installment payment contracts at 0% interest on the phone.  If you decide to move, which you can at any time, you merely have to pay off the phone in total.  The installment contract is dependent on service being purchased but your service is not under contract.  If you have your own phone or pay it off early you can cancel service at any time.

This is different than it used to be where the service itself was under for 2 years or whatever and you couldn’t just cancel service or had to pay severe penalties to do so.  And they sold you a phone under the service contract at a subsidized price which hid the real price.

  • Computing would be totally different had Apple not been formed 49 years ago, today

They seem to have forgotten about the concentrate on a few opportunities and ignore all the other opportunities.

What with making movies, etc.  instead of concentrating on making the Mac and iPhone and related the very best.

  • TV app on Apple TV hardware frustrating users with large libraries

I only have a few movies so this issue is not one I care about.

But as someone who doesn’t care about the latest movies or tv shows I hate the way the TV app doesn’t just go to the main “desktop” of I stalled apps any longer but sticks you in some stupid movie/TV limbo and you need to get out to get to the main app listing screen.

  • Apple gearing up to re-release revamped HomeKit architecture

I’m one of those who is always a version or three behind… in fact on my phone I went
from iOS 14.7.1 to iOS 16 in preparation for buying a new phone.

  • Amazon layoffs much worse than expected, will hit 18,000

They should put the people to work on profitable things. Grow your profits by doing interesting profitable things with them.  The problem isn’t too many people.  The problem is not using them in a profitable way.

As is mentioned, you don’t grow by shrinking.  You grow by coming up with new and interesting products.
