Some macOS Server services being stripped out in spring, including Calendar, Websites, Mai...
For me, Server offered me a way to easily set up and configure ACLs and their inheritance, which is not readily available in Finder. When setting up a Maxon Cinema 4D Team Render Server, properly inheriting permissions is critical to functionality of Team Render Server and trial and error testing showed that Finder did not offer the finesse or inheritance needed. I would love to see this functionality rolled into Finder; but, as long as it isn't, Server offers what I need for quick and easy render farms for remote shoots. If you think I am exaggerating, you will be able to see the results, this coming Sunday at a certain sports event out of Minneapolis that will see some heavy viewership. -
Apple acquires song identifying app Shazam for undisclosed sum
The question is, 'what does Apple really want to do with the intellectual property?' Just as Apple's acquisition of PrimeSense was not about turning AppleTV into an X-BOX competitor; but actually wanted the visual tech for FaceID, I'm certain that this acquisition is about acquiring the IP for a use that's radically different from how it is being used by Shazam. -

Users want to see end result, final release they can download and use it.Additionally, the update frequency is often indicative of how close to finished that the final release is, and you, yourself stated you want to see final releases you can use. This gives you a way to derive a soft profile of how soon that final release will be available. -
