  • Another new kernel flaw that Google won't fix for Android users prompts more switching to Apple's i

You are truly living in La la land. There's more chance of Tim marrying Kim Kardashian than that happening. Your constant ramblings about the share price and loathing of Tim as a CEO has finally unhinged your mind.
Suggesting a strategy of destroying your own margins by deliberately making an inferior product and then letting others make the hardware and have all that negativity..
Why do you guys pile on Sog? Give it up already. He has some excellent points and all you haters sound like Trolls.
Because sog is a broken record. Nearly every post he makes is anti-Tim, with some bizarre idea that a CEO should make public pronouncements for every little rumor. He's a Tim Cook hater and nothing Tim Cook will ever be good enough for the all-knowing sog. Based on many conversations I've seen, several of us thinks that sog should go sog off.

Just disagreeing with DED's style of writing is enough to get you down-voted. I thoroughly enjoy all the Apple products I own and recommend them to others, but I do not need DED to constantly justify my purchases by bashing other companies in the style he does.
If it annoys you so much, have you considered not reading his articles?
Letting it go uncontested implies that the entire community approves of his behavior. His sockpuppetry, ad hominems, strawmans, etc. is simply sinking to the level of the Apple haters rather than helping promote or defend Apple. We can do better, and I think we should expect better of everyone, not just our opponents. We might never win over the haters, but returning evil for evil isn't the way to go, and the people "on the fence" can be swayed by our behavior too, positively or negatively, depending on the behavior.

  • Core Apple manufacturer Foxconn sees December revenues down 20 percent

Foxconn makes stuff for lots of other companies as well. PC sales are down. Maybe a chunk of the slump came from them?

Yes. Foxconn is terroble and it's Apple's fault.

Apple haters would have you think that Apple is Foxconn's only customer of note. Other customers are:

        Acer Inc. (Taiwan)
        Amazon.com (United States)
        Apple Inc. (United States)
        BlackBerry Ltd. (Canada)
        Cisco (United States)
        Dell (United States)
        Google (United States)
        Hewlett-Packard (United States)
        Huawei (China)
        Microsoft (United States)
        Motorola Mobility (United States)
        InFocus (United States)
        Nintendo (Japan)
        Nokia (Finland)
        Sony (Japan)
        Toshiba (Japan)
        Xiaomi (China)
        Vizio (United States)

Of course, nobody's heard of those companies because they're not noteworthy.

Foxconn is its supplier, and they treat it's chooses employees like crab.
No. Crab is delicious, unlike workers. Or Apple-hating trolls.

  • Rules of the Troll [WIP]

Honestly if you think those are two examples are bannable offences then I think the problem is evident.  You have a thick skin where people attack you but not quite so when the mothership is attacked.

I don't see any problem with getting rid of those trolls. I'm sure those particular people are quite welcome on some Google or MS fan board. They don't actually have to be on an Apple fan board. If their point is to evangelize for some other brand or poison the Apple well, they don't need to be here. Nobody likes being evangelized to, and if a person thinks poisoning the Apple well is the best way to get people to switch brands, the problem is that person, not us.

There will always be haters, people with differing opinions.  To delete posts because you don't agree with them is the issue.  Apple is bigger than you and does not need you to protect them from the "evil empire".

Then that ignores the need to protect _this forum_ from those that choose to be disruptive rather than be a part of the discussion.

There are plenty of people here who are apple fanboys who are not overly happy with where apple is heading.

There's a point where disgruntled ex-fans are more disruptive than regular trolls. If someone is here to discuss, fine, if they're here to lay land mines, then elsewhere is a better place for them.
