  • Oscars snub Apple TV+ movies, and Apple no longer cares

Nobody cares about these awards, they are completely bogus and have zero effect on anybody.
I worked in three different art-house cinemas when I was in my 20's and I can tell you that people DO care. From around November or December when buzz starts circulating around certain films, business would start picking up, we'd hire more staff, and lines at the box office would be fairly constant. When January rolled around and the Golden Globes and other award ceremonies start handing out prizes, things would start to get even busier. By the time the Oscars are handed out we would be in full-swing award season mode, films that left theaters earlier in the year would come back for another run (even if they are already available to watch at home), the long lines at the box office started wrapping down the block and around the corner, every show sells out 7 days a week, and this would go on for another three months until all the summer blockbusters (that don't typically win awards) are released.

If these awards were truly bogus and had zero effect on anybody, they wouldn't continue doing it. Just because you don't care doesn't mean that millions of other people agree with you.

Not this century I guess? I reckon it became a runningjoke about 2008.

I recognise that it important to the industry, but each year it seems more and more inward looking, and like many people, don’t bother watching it anymore.

  • Apple Miami Worldcenter is a nature and accessibility paradise

    “Biophillic”
designers and marketers really love to get a tight grip on their, umm “genius” don’t they? They are really marketing themselves.

It reminds me of the MBA fad of twenty years ago where every ambitious young executive to be would come out with their own marvellous organisational theory they would proselytise to the C suite as a way to climb the ladder. Worse, when their theory actually resulted in a restructure that was inflicted on the poor worker. See also change  types would rock in, inflict change and then move on claiming victory long before the results are exposed by the next MBA and their theory. They were like seagulls: fly in making lots of noise, shit everywhere and then move on to do the same elsewhere. Nowadays the MBA fad to climb the corporate ladder is Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.

But I digress. I really like the interior, where wood everywhere is very on trend. It seems there is a tonne of storage and workrooms on either side, or are they other shops? As for the garden roof, well, nothing new there.

  • Apple Maps still calls it the Gulf of Mexico, and politicians are upset

I find it all very entertaining.
One lot of yanks are currently overloaded with euphoria at the thought of a wrecking ball tearing the establishment down, the other lot are crying in their cups.

and why not call it the Gulf of America? It isn’t as though the left aren’t busy changing place names all the time.

  • Apple Card's future in question as Goldman Sachs CEO eyes early exit

Why not just straight with Mastercard or visa? Logo issues?

Might even make it easier to expand Apple Card overseas.
