  • Apple was leading buyer of AI companies between 2016 and 2020

Think of the bright side... These companies can't now fall into the hands of the gang of data miners out there. You all know whom I mean. Your every move is slurped and added to the growing dataset they have on you and your friends/relatives/associates. Orwell must be turning in his grave. If the idea of Big Brother was a warning, not a template for society today.

  • Apple on hook for $308.5M in DRM patent suit

    Huh. Texas again.

Between don't with my internal policies Texas trying to get elections overturned in other states (which had already gone through two or three recounts), their reluctance to hook up with national power grids and their failure to winterize their power production facilities (it don't get that cold that often), and their reluctance to implement any infection control protocols one wonders what will next be coming from that state.

Certainly it's the home turf of the patent troll courts - and every time I see them mentioned in the news it just seems like the state is just stuffed full of fatheads.

Methinks if Texans want to regain the respect of the nation the first step they must take is to vote out the riff-raff they have running the state and elect some decent non-Trumpian reality-based local government - then again, maybe there's a reason that the state is run by such a pathetic collection of bozos.
Those patent courts are Federal and not state. If you voted all the Texas rascals out it wouldn't affect the rulings such as this one from Federal District courts there.
It would if Texas left the Union. There are a lot of people there that would like nothing more than to break away from the US as a whole.
That's one way of getting Cancun Cruz out of DC I suppose. :)

  • Apple tells Chinese apps not to bypass App Tracking Transparency

My guess is that Facebook already has a way of bypassing the checks that Apple might make. How else can you explain the sudden about-face by Facebook?

I hope that Apple catches them and kicks every bit of FB owned software off the AppStore and makes the reasons why very public.

Let’s hope Mark didn’t find any loopholes in the new system. You know how sneaky he is.
There were some reports that some Chinese companies had found a way (or were working to find a way) round the latest restrictions in IOS. Perhaps [he who shall not be named] has done a deal with them and that's the reason for the sudden change in position.

F***B*** can go to hell because it will be a dark day in hades when I even allow their site through my firewall.

  • New patent lawsuit targets Apple A-series, M-series chips

    Patent trolls are maggots

Don't insult maggots like that. They actually have a useful function in the ecology.

How about Slugs? slimy and are a menace to growing crops.
