  • Apple's $119.6 million victory in iPhone utility patent battle with Samsung finally upheld...

Sounds to me that Samsung is the Victor - 2.2 billion down to a paltry 119 million. That should cover Apple's legal fees.

  • Supreme Court asks Trump administration for thoughts on App Store pricing lawsuit

    Wrong wrong wrong
apple is eating an income. Back in the day when you purchased software from Best Buy- did Best Buy make money? How about a restaurant selling Bacardi or a Chevy selling to a dealership, does the dealership make money? Amazon sells software, they earn an income too.
Groceries go through so many channels - the farmer always complains that they receive nothing compared to how much the retailer is selling product.
Companies have 3 prices: retail, wholesale, and what they need to make.  Or how about this, what they need to make and retail price.
    This is all BS!
By far Apple apps are the lowest prices of anything out there.

  • Apple spends an estimated $247.51 on iPhone 8 parts, $288.08 on iPhone 8 Plus

Of course - that’s the cost of the parts, period!!
now, let’s include assembly and shipping costs, packaging, duty, fedex to send it here, design and development, stock people, rent and so much more.  Their margins are high because they sell a lot of phones. If their sales are 50%, the margins will fall.
As for me, I feel very lucky that some spent a billion dollars to develop a 800.00 phone for me and gives me free updates, free cloud account, very few reasons to ask for support, and a product which is always improving in so many ways without raising the price too much.
Compared to a PC, this phone is a bargin at twice the price.

  • Inside iOS 11: Apple's 'Do Not Disturb While Driving' keeps you safe on the road

I've come to enjoy this feature in Beat. Never realized how often I picked up my phone in the car and this is breaking me from a very bad habit.

Sometimes a little feedback goes a long way.

Only problem I'm experiencing is that when using Strava on Watch vs from phone, the phone will cut off my watch, therefore my distance is not being recording when bike riding. Hope I can find a bypass.

  • Apple researching whether Apple Watch can detect common heart conditions

It’s helped many.  There was a period of time over a year ago when I noticed an irregular sleeping heart rate which ranged from 50ish to 170, my normal sleeping HR was 58 - 72 all night. My first thought was a malfunction to my watch, but after a month or so and repeated watch restarts with no change, I decided it was time to see my quack. Several test later it was discovered that I had a hiatal hernia which caused a reflux and over time if affected my thyroid.  Thanks to Apple Watch, I noticed a problem and now everything is under control.  Hope they do more.
