It does stay where you left it, so if you are on the music panel and dismiss Control Center, when you swipe back up it is still on music.crowley said:I probably access CC for music controls more than anything else, so it'll be a bit annoying. I would make Night Shift a round button like those at the top and then add 4 more round buttons to the same row: Dark Mode, Low Power Mode, Cellular Data, Hotspot or VPN.

Seeing as your iPhone already tracks your steps, it should be obvious that your iPhone will distinguish between the two motions. As already pointed out, iPhone can also detect ambient light and proximity.
