  • Apple refutes rumors that it is trying to buy TikTok

I guess I could see them building it in to the camera app, since my main social network is iMessage/Messages, but I’ll believe it when it happens.

Struggling to see how this could be a big seller.
Which it will of course not be.

It would be nice if they could explain what dilemma that the foldable phone solves.
    “First!”

I honestly do not see the appeal of this. Back in the day it made sense. The screens were plastic & scratched easily, the clicky keyboards were prone to pocket-dialing, and as screens and keyboards got bigger and bigger the space savings made sense. But making the phone thicker just to be able to say it folds isn’t really solving any problems. It’s actually recreating old ones like re-introducing screens that scratch easily, as well as new ones like screens that develop stress distortion/fatigue at the bend. But, “first!”. Amazing.

  • 'iPhone 12' could come with braided Lightning cable, leak claims

I’m sure I’m not the first one here to think, IT’S ABOUT FRIGGIN’ TIME APPLE!
Agree. High-quality braided Amazon cables (under the “AmazonBasics” name) for iPhone have been available for years at extremely reasonable prices. I just won’t even consider Apple’s cables in the instances they’re not absolutely necessary anymore. They’ve easily outlasted every Apple power cable for iPhone/iPad I’ve ever bought.
And I buy nothing but Apple branded cables because of their quality and long lasting performance. I have NEVER had an Apple cable go bad, EVER.  And I know they will work properly with my Apple gear.
Likewise, I’ve had Amazon Basics and Monoprice fail apart in ridiculous short time frames, and several braided “kevlar lined” Ankers simply stop working after six months, despite not being worn down. I have never had an Apple cable fail. Hopefully we get the best of both words.
That’s the thing! Had an Apple cable for years (and still have) Frayed halfway down from lightening end... still works! Meanwhile can’t count how many cheap-o cables I’ve gone through that looked fine, but just quit working.

There's a lot of laziness and content out there right now. Apple Silicon is going to wake a few business units up at MS and Intel, at least it better for their sake.
On a quiet night, you can hear the copiers (silicon x-ray machines) firing up.

    Great reference!

this is going to be 10x bigger than when Apple took A series 64bit.
