  • Department of Justice antitrust filing against Apple said to be imminent, for the fourth c...

Don't break what isn't broken.  A good question is, what special interest group is pushing this BS and why?  Generally, liberal politicians despise successful companies and that's why this Administration is attacking another great American company (leave that to the envious EU nations). Apple has created great products that literally has 100's of millions of consumers who love their products and services. We, the free-willed consumer, are not being exploited, Apple is a monopoly only on Apple products just like GM is a monopoly on GM products, etc.  Apple has less than 100% market share so how is this a monopoly? Consumers have a choice to use Android and its app store along with all its lack of privacy, tracking, and selling your personal data or you can choose Apple which tries to protect the consumer not exploit them for additional profit.

It's time this Administration concentrates on actually doing its fundamental job of securing this country and stop attacking a great American company that literally and figuratively invented the smartphone market and created millions of jobs that have paid the feds hundreds of billions of dollars in tax revenue this country has enjoyed.

  • Apple's entire OLED iPad plan may have just been leaked

Whatever happened to the OLED killer, micro-LED that Apple and Samsung were supposedly working on?   I recall being told that OLED was a stopgap technology and micro-LED is the future and not far away.

  • Apple insists 8GB unified memory equals 16GB regular RAM

His statement is true in many instances but not all.  If you are editing a multiGB file the 8GB could be a serious issue.   Moreover this does nothing to address the insane pricing for memory upgrades that Apple charges its customers.  These memory modules are less than $40 for 8GB but Apple charges an insane $200 to upgrade.  If it were only $100 most people would stop complaining about the memory limitations.  Same applies to the SSD upgrade pricing also 2-3x too expensive.

  • iMac 24-inch M3 review: A clear sign that Intel Mac support is ending soon

The M3 iMac is a very nice upgrade but Apples pricing for memory and SSD upgrades is ludicrous.  These upgrade prices should be sliced in half immediately and Apple would still be making huge profit margins on them.  Minimum configuration should be 16GB and 512GB SSD.  The lower options should not exist.

Moreover, Apple is always pounding its chest about how green they are but then they create an entry level high volume consumer product that will be out of use and in a landfill within 5 years.   If they doubled the memory and SSD size it would last many more useful years

  • New 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro sport M3, and come in black

Starting price of 14" MBP with M3 being less expensive than previous 14" MBP is interesting. That Space Black looks pretty cool too. Definitely something to think about...

I noted that they mentioned more than a few times how much better things would be for those still on Intel Macs (rub it in, why don't ya!), and in particular, how the 24" iMac M3 was offered as a replacement for either the 21.5" or 27" Intel iMacs. I wonder if that means we won't see a larger iMac any time soon.

They will be drawing a hard line to discontinue support for all Intel Macs in the near future. The remarks about the comparative boost is both marketing to convince people to upgrade from those and also a warning the the MacOS written to use that new speed and capacity will soon be too much for Intel Macs to handle.
Yep, that's what I'm afraid of...
My very capable 2017 27" iMac has already been locked out of future OS upgrades like Sonoma.
