I wonder, how does the author feel about “exploiting” the dangerous real terror of submarine warfare for safe entertainment? Does he think making the terror so close to reality without any of the danger is ultimately a good or a bad thing, does it cheapen or enhance the respect Cold War vets deserve? -

'Wolfs' is the most-watched movie on Apple TV+ ever
I think the issue is that, while some of these movies may have limited theatrical release, they are made for the TV screen.
This means that the camera shots and the editing is boring. In Wolfs, The Instigators, and other Streamer-movies, there was no creativity in the cinematography at all - it was all just a bunch of people doing things and the camera filming it from the sidelines, with a few close-ups. Like you would shoot a TV show. Great movies are the result of a recipe of combining story, dialogue, score, acting, and cinematography to manipulate feelings out of us; these Apple TV movies rely on just, well, none of these.
