  • 'iPhone 13' mockups show camera module changes, slight size differences

Apple should follow the same naming protocol it uses for MacBooks, iMacs and iPads--drop the generation number from iPhone and Watch names. Apple simply calls new models "new" and that certainly hasn't hurt sales. And if they insist on keeping a generation number again this year for iPhone, the above renders make the new phones look more like a 12S iteration than a 13. It looks like the rumors were true and that the new "color" this year is going to be charcoal gray or whatever Apple calls it. Yawn.
A new report says this year's iPhone will be a '12S', and that there "probably" won't be an iPhone 13 ever.

Apple is rumored to be planning a 2021 lineup similar to the iPhone 12, with four models of iPhone in three sizes. If these latest reports are correct, it seems we can expect minor tweaks and an 'S' upgrade akin to previous years, and no 'iPhone 13' ever.I have seen the 12S

I have seen this mentioned a couple of times by Prosser , Mark Gurman and Sam Kohl form AppleTrack.

  • HBO Max 'missed the mark' with update, restores native tvOS player

Why do companies think they can out do a provided API? The developers must be generating billable hours.
In the case of HBO, it looks like they wanted data about user behavior that the Apple player does not provide.
Right on time with the release of their add supported tier. Guess they wanted to be able to track what folks watch so they could send them the most appropriate ads on the cheaper service tier?

  • Some iPhone users report high battery drain following iOS 14.6 update

I started to notice a faster rate of battery usage from my 9.7" Pro within the past few weeks. I know it's older and the battery health is definitely not ideal, but it was going from mid 30% to less than 5% just sitting overnight.

By simply looking at which app was consuming the most power, I realized that my local newspaper's app seemed to be the culprit, even if it was just in the background and not being actively used. I resolved the issue by simply making sure I force-close the app when I'm done. While there may be nothing inherently wrong with 14.6, I suspect that this particular app did not react well to some change in iOS.
Imagine that… you went to the battery info on your phone and found the offending app and realized you needed to close it to stop the battery drain. Hopefully your local paper will give it an update at some point and all will be good. If more folks would just do what you did we wouldn’t see so many of these types of non stories.  B)

  • 2021 2nd-Generation Siri Remote Review: The star of the show

When your remote is more expensive than a competitors product .....

I could buy 2 fire sticks for this.

Anybody want to justify the price? Most remotes are <$10. I have an Apple TV and I don't really like the old remote, but this is insanely priced.

    Edit:

Glad someone found this informative. It was more of an opinion really. But thanks!
3 new remotes is cheaper than one new ATV 4K.. I have 3 2017 ATV 4k's in my home which I plan on getting new remotes for. Is the price for these well built remotes too high..maybe for some folks it is.

I have felt it in my hands and it definitely is not a $10.00 remote, and far above what you would get for that price. For those that drop remotes or have kids these things will last!

It is totally worth it and justifiable to replace the remotes and never have to touch on OG siri remote again ABSOLUTELY!  B)

"We are being silenced by big tech!" he says, live on Twitter, Facebook, and every major TV channel.

All the major social media companies have an extreme bias in favor of right-wing politics. This is just another example of the Republicans' constant faked victimhood. They pretend to be persecuted even when they get privileges beyond what anybody else gets. It's exhausting.

I also love the carveout for Disney. They're always willing to go the extra mile to show you just how completely devoid of ethics and morals they are.
Objectively false.  You’re buying into the same argument the companies themselves make. That is, because right wing sources are the most shared, it can’t possibly be biased against conservatives. The bias is provable… and it’s not even close.
The bias is against conservatives only in the sense that the bias is against bald-faced lies, and many “conservatives” are now far more committed to the lies than they are the things that used to define conservatism. To wit, the House Republicans just replaced Liz Cheney with someone who is significantly less politically conservative, but infinitely more committed to the Cult-of-Trump lies.
It’s amazing that you actually believe this.  Liberals lie with impunity on these platforms.  Liberals engage in hate speech with impunity on these platforms.  As for the House, Cheney was a dinosaur…her party no longer exists. She’s one of the old open borders, free trade, neocon internationalists.  That’s not what the party is anymore.  And no, it’s not about The Orange Man.  He was merely the vehicle for the populist revolt brewing since 2010. The Dems have their own version of this.  For them, it’s the hard left that has taken over.  It’s why people like Pelosi and Schumer are kowtowing to radical morons like AOC, Talib and Omar.
It's true that the Republican Party is now unrecognizable. It is all about Trump, however, and its only internal guide is built on the lies that service Trump's narcissistic personality disorder. Cheney voted more consistently with Trump's policies than her replacement. She is a "dinosaur" only in the sense that she parted ways with Trump following his incitement of an insurrection. While we might not agree with the likes of Liz Cheney much, the rest of the country is in need of a non-seditionist second party that at least gives a nod to reality, instead of simply fabricating things to suit the needs of Trump's current preferred narrative. Parler is indeed a Trumpist "conservative" haven, and Trump was booted from mainstream social media because he used it to promote the Big Lie to boot up and incite an attempted insurrection to overturn the results of a legitimate election in which he was defeated.
She is a "dinosaur" only in the sense that she parted ways with Trump following his incitement of an insurrection

Exactly this is conveniently overlooked.. She was perfectly fine until quotes like this.

"The 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Anyone who claims it was is spreading THE BIG LIE, turning their back on the rule of law, and poisoning our democratic system."

"I will not sit back and watch in silence while others lead our party down a path that abandons the rule of law and joins the former president’s crusade to undermine our democracy,”

To try and say her ousting wasn't because of her departure from the former president and non support of the big lie is absolutely bullshit. sdw2001 come on man stop this crap.
