  • New HomePod mini will allow users to control Pandora with Siri

Disappointed that Spotify is left off.

Left off how?  IOS 14 gave us the ability to pic a primary music service on Homepod. From what I know Spotify needs to add this functionality to it's app for this to work.

Open Home App Click on Home icon top left Click on Home Settings at the bottom of the menu In the People Section, click on you (the primary user if you are set up as a family) Wait a few seconds and then below "Show Me on Apple TV" a MEDIA section will appear. In the MEDIA section you will be able to pick your default music service.  I have it open as I am typing this but I don't use Spotify so I can't make the switch.

According to Apple‘s website they don’t work for home theater with Apple TV
    This is from Apple.com?

HomePod mini works effortlessly with your Apple devices.

Pick up an incoming call from your iPhone, listen to music on your Mac, or upgrade your TV experience by taking the sound from your Apple TV to the next level — they all connect to HomePod mini.

  • 'iPhone 12 mini' & 'iPhone 12 Pro Max' ship mid-November, says leaker

They can release a HomePod for $10, but if they don’t make Siri less moronic, and don’t allow me to play music using Spotify through Siri directly without having to say “on Spotify”, it’s not going to be an attractive product for me.
I don’t get the hang up about Siri. I just don’t personally find it that important at all. This speaker was for music first and Siri commands were secondary from the very moment it was announced and it sounds fantastic.

I love picking a playlist from my phone and putting it to the side. I can control everything after that from my Apple Watch while I sit with my iPad or do things around the house. Talking to Siri or any assistant is just annoying and unnatural in my opinion.

From what I know even with Alexa you need to ask to play Apple Music with an “ On Apple Music “ command. Unless you make Apple Music or whatever service you have the default music app.

As it stands now IOS 14 was to bring the same functionality of allowing you to set a default music app on HomePod. This was announced at WWDC.

From what I’ve seen on Reddit people were waiting for Spotify to update its app.  I am not sure if this is working yet as I only use We only use Apple Music.

I sure hope that rumor that they will ship without chargers is false.
While it is true that many people already have bricks, most or all of those are likely to be old, obsolete, 5W chargers.   That's 1/4 the power that these new phones will accept.   Apple should be upgrading their chargers along with their phones.
I agree.. I just have a hard time believing Apple is ok with folks using just any charger on hand to charge their new iPhone. Not everyone buying an iPhone is a repeat customer.I am totally fine with no Earpods, but no charger is tough to swallow.

I get the E-waste reduction perspective and respect the attempt to reduce it, but telling folks they need to buy a charger after spending $600.00 minimum on a new iPhone... :/. Samsung was rumored to be doing the same with the Note 20 series and I believe they ended up shipping with a charging brick?

  • Apple confirms Oct 13th event to announce new 'iPhone 12' family

The "iPhone 12" generation is rumored to be made up of the 5.4-inch "iPhone 12," the 6.1-inch "iPhone 12 Max," the 6.1-inch "iPhone 12 Pro," and the 6.7-inch "iPhone 12 Pro Max."
I was under the impression that the names were expected to be iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max? I know that Apple marketing has had some questionable moves in the past, but I don't recall them ever doing anything as dumb as having two different sized models with the same name - there's no way they're going to have a 6.1" phone and a 6.7" phone both called "Max".
For months the rumor was 12/12 Max and 12 Pro/12 Pro max from what I have seen and read.  Adding mini the to the smallest size iPhone 12 is very recent. I like mini for the smallest and max for the largest personally.  My thought was that two max phones would become confusing when purchasing for people outside of us hardcore fans/customers.
