  • Apple planning Face ID for MacBook Pro and iMac

Notch doesn’t bother me in the slightest on my phone, mostly because of the vertical orientation of the screen and the fact that I rarely use it in full-screen mode. Not sure that I would like it on other devices that are primarily used in landscape and that I use full-screen more. Note that they forewent a notch on the iPad Pro line that also uses Face ID.

  • Magic Keyboard coming to 13-inch MacBook Pro, supply chain rumors suggest

There are certain companies, Apple among them, that may actually see an increase in sales during an event such as we are experiencing. I know several people who have bought new computers and/or upgraded so that they can work at home more easily. Plus they have the cash on hand due to canceling vacations. Apple’s customer base is also probably less effected by the stay-at-home directives which has impacted the service and entertainment industry most heavily. Apple’s main problem during this time will most likely be supply-chain disruptions rather than a lack of demand.

  • Apple launches $350 iPad keyboard amid pandemic-fueled recession

My wallet is ready! I am all-in on the iPad Pro and $300 doesn’t bother me in the slightest for what it is delivering.

  • Review: The BenQ ScreenBar saves space while brightening up your desk

I agree with the user who said more pictures would help, or even a video. If I am understanding this correctly it is a lamp designed to hang and shine directly in front of the monitor, which frankly sounds like it would drive me nuts. But maybe I am missing something.

  • Apple News+ fails to bring in new subscribers despite impressive launch

I like the Apple News app and went ahead and subscribed when News+ launched. I am still a subscriber and I especially enjoy the content from Smithsonian, Nat Geo, WSJ, and LA Times. News+ did allow me to drop a couple of magazine subscriptions, but that means that I saved like $40 a year for a spend of $120/year. I can’t say that I am thrilled with the service, but I’m going to keep it for now.
