  • Will the Vision Pro headset disrupt the high-end TV market?

It has the potential to disrupt BOTH the TV and computer monitor market down the road. There's no question about it. Just looking at it from a materials perspective makes a compelling argument for both the company selling it and the consumer buying it. Two postage stamp sized screens versus the materials involved in making PC monitors and TVs of today? A headset that you can put in a drawer replacing a big screen TV AND a multiple monitor set-up?
The computer monitor market, sure.  The TV market, I'm not convinced at all.

In watching the demonstration, I think it will.

Not having to mess w/screens, projectors and x.1 sound systems could be huge.
Watching TV / movies is predominantly a social experience enjoyed with friends and family.  Unless the Vision Pro can maintain that social aspect, it will not be upending the TV market especially considering that Apple has brought FaceTime to Apple TV.

  • Apple's live events are probably a thing of the past, and that's sad

What is particularly sad about it is how over-produced and perfectly scripted and choreographed these are. They feel inhuman, inauthentic, and insincere. They are attempting to evoke a Steve Jobs vibe with an abundance of superfluous adjectives (as if that's what Steve was about). It all feels so artificial. It's like going to Disney's EPCOT Center's World Showcase and thinking that you really traveled the world to those countries. It looks (sorta) real but there's this uneasy, sanitized vibe of superficiality.

Apple needs a new vibe with these. Something not Steve™ and something not this.

Apple, get back to being human and real.

P.S. I do think these recorded "events" are a symptom of Apple's hyper-conservative nature. They want control over every tiny detail of their image in a way that leads to crap like this. They want it scripted and controlled and polished in a way that feels not quite human.
"They want it scripted and controlled and polished in a way that feels not quite human."

That's because they are not, and never will be, Steve Jobs.  He had a presentation style that was second to none, not only within Apple but the entirety of business.

  • Several Macs have been cut off the support list for macOS Sonoma

This leaves WWDC2024 as the last Intel supported OS and WWDC 2025 will be the starting of Apple Silicon Only OS. I supposed knowing that, it will be a big release. Leaving out legacy Intel code like  Kexts, etc.
Is this based on past history or just a guess?

  • Several new Macs will launch at WWDC, says Gurman

When has there been WWDC main keynote longer than two hours? I don't think so. They will not announce all those Macs at WWDC, unless they are revolutionary. They maybe release them the same day, but not announce them. This is a developer's conference, not a hardware conference.
Someone says this every year and someone else discredits this statement every year.  Hardware has been announced SEVERAL times at WWDC.  Why do people keep saying this?
Exactly. Not to mention that we already know Apple will announce and showcase its VR headset at WWDC, one of its biggest (and riskiest) HARDWARE launches in the history of the company. So much for "not a hardware conference."
Not what I said. Why would the Air for example be announced at WWDC? What feature is so good as to be announced at WWDC?
The M2 MBA was announced during WWDC 2022.  So it can definitely happen again
