Editorial: Thankful for iPhone X
Daniel, I would be interested to see an article comparing the various ecosystems and a view on their significance in the development of mobile phones. The obvious ones are Apple, Google and Microsoft.
People l know who have iPhones typically also own iPads. They can easily use various Apple products to seamlessly share data. My experience with Microsoft is that it never worked between thier mobile and pc operating system. For Google my use is too limited to know if it works well or not.
Whilst perhaps not a key selling point with the iPhone, l think the ease of sharing data across Appme products is another reason why Apple is still way ahead of its competitors. -
Apple allegedly 'dithered' over HomePod development, canceled & restarted project
Apple’s late entry into this area has been commmented upon before. This story, if true, helps to explain some of the reasons. The on, off of this project suggests that there was not sufficient buy in at a senior level until perhaps they saw how Amazon’s offering was becoming popular and that it was another hook into an ecosystem. -
Review: Fitbit Ionic aims at Apple Watch, but needs more apps
I have previously posted the picture of my son’s Fitbit that fell apart after about 15 months. The Fitbit was difficult to sync. I replaced it with a Garmin Forerunner 35 which was in the same price band as the Fitbit. So far the difference between the two products has been marked. The Garmin is more functional, better screen, better made and more useful software that syncs without issues. I would be interested to read a comparison review between Fitbit and Garmin. -
